When I open up the default explorer window, usually by pressing Win+E, I want it to be centered on my primary monitor and it's size set to 85%. I've managed to do this through a custom function and it works flawlessly. But now every explorer window is having these rules applied to, whether it's some folder I open on my desktop, my videos folder where the thumbnails are resized to precisely fit it's custom scale (which isn't 85%), or control panels which I would prefer on my second monitor and with a much smaller size.

Is there any way to set rules for multiple explorer windows, which are being initialized each with a different location?

Unfortunately Windows uses Explorer windows for nearly everything in the OS (file browsing, control panel windows... etc), which makes it very difficult to use with Window Location. I can't think of a reliable way to do this, sorry, maybe someone else on the forum has a good way to tell the windows apart?

I was thinking about picking up the window's title and comparing it to a list of names through maybe a switch statement, and then setting the window's position and size based on the case it matched. This script would be run once every new explorer window is opened up.

Unfortunately, my knowledge about scripting for Display Fusion is very limited, so would anyone mind helping me out on this one?

You could do that with a scripted function, and then have the explorer Window Location rule call the scripted function :)

Check out the "Move Only a Specific Window of an Application" in the Download Scripted window (Settings > Functions > Download Scripted). That shows how to get the window title. You could then modify it for multiple cases.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any trouble setting it up.
