Here is my rationale. I have three monitors and usually run some browser instances to display various info. One instance is running tweetdeck, the other is running toggle, etc.

I'd really like to see that I'm able to create a rectangular areas where these instances should be placed.
Once I have such areas defined I'd just move a window to any area I defined and window would move/resize based on defined rectangles. Basically something that GridMove used to do.

Is this already possible with current features?

You can sort of do this with Monitor Splitting. In the Monitor Configuration window, click "Splits and Padding." You can then configure split layouts, and when you maximize a window, it will maximize to the split that it's on, instead of the full monitor.

Alternatively, you could create Custom Functions for each position, like so:
  • Open an application and move it to the size and position you want to use for the Custom Function.
  • Open the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions tab, click Add Custom.
  • Drag the target icon and drop it on the application to grab its size and location.
  • Give the function a name, and an optional key combination and click OK.
  • Optionally, select the function in the list, and click "Toggle TitleBar Button" to add it to the caption bar, next to the "Move Window to Next Monitor" button.
  • Click OK.

Hope that helps!

Hi Keith,

Well, Monitor splitting does the trick for me. That's cool and what I was looking for more or less.

Thanks
