If I add 2 new icons to my desktop, will DF automatically update or do I have to make a new desktop icon profile?

If I have a desktop icon profile for my 2 1080p monitors and I change my main monitor to 4k, can I use that profile with the 4k monitor? If not' how can, keep from losing the placement of the icons, especially the icons that I have on the second 1080p monitor, which is set as extend desktop in windows? My question is there a way to keep my icons from all jumping to thr 4k monitor when I install it to replace my 1080p mnitor that is set as main display by windows?
