Hello,

I'm using DF 9.9 bought on Steam for managing my monitors and wallpapers. Using it for many years and really like it.

A few weeks ago, I bought an small display to use it as a sensor panel for AIDA64 und as far as AIDA64 goes, everything works fine.
My issue is, every time I make changes in the Monitor Configuration Window and apply those changes, Display Fusion resets the resolution/aspect ration and orientation of said display.

Native resolution should be 1920*480 but is changed (to 1280*720 when testing again while writing this post) when applying changes, even if its just changing the primary display.
The affected display is shown as Waveshare 88 (or Waveshare 8.8) in Windows Display Settings where I don't have any issues making and applying changes. It is connected via a DP to HDMI Cable, but I also get the exact same issue with a BarrowCH FBEHD-01 8.8 1920*480 display that was connected via HDMI cable.
All displays (34" 3440*1440 via DP, 27" 2560*1440 via DP and UHD TV via HDMI) are connected to a RTX 3080Ti and could be managed without issues before I connected the sensor panel.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue? Please let me know if any more infos are required. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I've attached the file as requested. An additional piece of information that might be relevant: Saving and loading a Monitor Profile appears to work fine and sets the correct orientation/resolution for the affected display. I just tried loading a profile after I tried applying some changes in Monitor Configuration window and the resolution for the small display was changed/reset again.

Thank you again and have a nice weekend.

Thanks! So to confirm, if you manually apply the monitor configuration, the resolution is incorrect, but if you load a monitor profile, it's correct?

Was the monitor profile saved after configuring the displays with the Windows settings?

Yes, loading an existing profile via tray icon or keyboard shortcut does apply the correct monitor position, orientation and resolution. The profiles I have tested have been saved after I set the monitor position, orientation and resolution in windows display setting. I have no other way to do it, since Displayfusion always resets the parameters for the affected display when clicking apply or ok in Monitor Configuration window

Yeah, makes sense! Just wanted to confirm that I was understanding that correctly :)

Could you do the following for me?

  • Download this utility: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Data/Download/?DownloadID=495db9ad-a9fe-4bee-a23d-d9cf233a7b1b&Log=0
  • When the resolution of that mini display is correct, open the utility and save a copy of the output.
  • Close the utility.
  • Apply the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration so that the resolution is wrong.
  • Open the utility again and save another copy of the output.
  • Send me both copies of the output.

Thanks!

Thanks! I will pass these over to our devs so that they can have a look.

We ended up ordering one of these for testing and there's definitely something funky going on when trying to apply the monitor configuration. We've added it to our list to fix up and we'll be sure to post an update when it's all sorted out. Monitor Config issues can be tricky, so I can't offer an ETA at the moment.

Thanks!
