I have a few Pinned Items on my DisplayFusion taskbar whose window titles are not needed. I often have these applications open, and they take up a significant amount of taskbar space with their window titles appearing alongside their respective icons.

While I do want other applications to have window titles, I would like to disable the window title for these specific Pinned Items (or these specific applications) or at the very least automatically rename their window titles on startup.

How can I accomplish this? If it is not possible, I would love to see this feature added.

More specifically, I am trying to disable the window titles for Obsidian, Firefox Developer Edition, and Discord.

Just to confirm you want the icon and title shown in the taskbar for some applications, and just the icon shown for others?

Yes. By default, I want both the icon and title shown for application windows, but for these specific applications (or these specific Pinned Items), I only want the icon shown for its application window(s).

I've added this to our feature request list. We don't guarantee that feature requests will be implemented, or offer timelines on possible implementation. We'll be sure to let you know if we do add it to our planned features in a future version.

Thanks!

Thanks. I did a bit more investigating and noticed that when I am editing my Taskbar Shortcuts, I can give each one a "Custom Name". I figured that if I named my shortcuts "" or at least something shorter, that could resolve this issue, but upon giving my shortcuts the name "Test", saving the changes, and closing and reopening the windows, nothing seems to have been changed. Am I misundestanding what the Custom Name property does, or is this unexpected behavior?

If that is not a way to resolve this, is there a way to run a script upon opening a window from a Taskbar Shortcut?

Setting the custom name just effects the tooltip that appears when you hover over the icon.

We don't have a way to fire a trigger specifically when an app is launched from the taskbar, but you can create a trigger that uses the "Window Created" event that will fire when the app is opened. We have a guide on creating triggers here: https://www.displayfusion.com/HelpGuide/Triggers/
