Hello there,
I am using a Windows 10 based laptop. I have noticed that both Clipboard and Display Fusion programs freeze my PC for 1-2 secs whenever they are turned on. The same happens when I open the Display Fusion settings from the tray: The loading "blocks" in the left bottom corner keep freezing- then finally the settings menu shows up. It will freeze again for a sec after I save the changes.
It is interesting to see a similar behavior in both Binary Fortress applications. What could be the cause of this issue? It is very irritating. I would appreciate all help!

I tried to run the *.exe file via command line with Priority set to /Low, but that only extended the time for which the app turns on and made it freeze the PC for longer...

More interesting info: I have removed the current Clipboard fusion and installed this one: https://www.clipboardfusion.com/OldVersion/
Does not freeze my PC and works very fast... I would appreciate all help.

I now went up to Clipboard Fusion version 5.5.1- it also works correctly...
I need to keep looking for previous versions on CLipboard and Display fusion on some 3rd party websites- is there an official place where I can manually check each previous versions (portable would be best for testing)?

Hi Lukasz,
If you turn on "Disable System Hooks (Shell)" in the advanced settings in both applications, does the issue persist after a restart?

Hi and Thank you for the answer,
Unfortunately did not help (tested on Clipboard fusion). Currently I am using Clipboard fusion version 5.6 and Display fusion 9.3. They both not only not freeze my PC, but I think they also work faster than the newer versions (load faster etc.).

Hi Owen, so:
- 5.9.0: freezes,
- 5.8.0: freezes,
- 5.7.0: does not freeze the PC.
So the changes done in the 5.8.0 ver had to include the issue.
Can we do the same exercise for Display fusion?

But these are new versions. Can you provide the previous versions? Or is there something you suspect might fix the problem in the next versions?

You mentioned v9.3 is working for you correct? These are the versions from 9.3 up to our latest version v9.9, so you should be able to test them one by one to see where it broke.

Correct, my bad, sorry.
So I started with installing v9.8 and went down until it stopped freezing. I ended up with 9.6. So I have noticed that the difference between 9.6 (non freezing) and 9.7 (freezing) is the new splash screen when opening settings. Issue is that the PC freezes not only on settings opening, but also at program starting. It might be a similar case for Clipboard fusion (splash screen differences).

Yes I confirm, none of the new betas fixed my problem, I need to rollback to the old versions...
Just to clarify, ClipboardFusion v5.8 Beta 1 and DisplayFusion v9.7 Beta 19 still had issues? Rolling back to v5.7 and v9.6 work again?

Hi Owen, this version still frezees my pc at startup
Okay so if I have this right:
DisplayFusion 9.7 Beta 4 works fine, but Beta 5 doesn't
ClipboardFusion 5.7 works fine, but 5.8 Beta 1 doesn't
Is that correct?

there isn't much to see there- in that vid I would make circles woth my cursor. at some point, during app starting the cursor would freeze few times. thats it.

Thanks for sending that over. On our latest DisplayFusion beta, if you disable all 3 hooks in the advanced settings, does that fix it up?

If by all 3 hooks you mean these from the attachement, then that did not help.

Interesting, could you run through the DisplayFusion Settings window and disable each setting 1 by 1 to see if something in particular causes it? Try disabling things like taskbars, triggers if you have any, monitor fading, Alt+Tab, etc.
