Hi Keith,

I was enjoying my free pro trial, it installed flawlessly and worked fantastic for the first week.

i have a 65", 4k monitor driven by a nvidia geforce 1070.
its displaying at 3840x2160. I have split it into three.
A pair of 1920 x 1080 windows sitting ontop a 3840x1080 window.
its split like an upside down letter "T".

the problem is taskbars.

To begin, when i first installed and set it up, the windows zoom scaling was set at 300% and the taskbars look distored, i adjusted the scaling to 100%, it kinda fixed it, i rebooted, and it was displaying perfect.

Fast fowards a week, the traskbar for the first small 1920x1080 box droopped to the bottom of the screen and overlayed over the top of the standard windows taskbar. I could right click both and get the windows menu or the displayfusion taskbar menu. rebooting didnt help.

deleting the split, and selecting ANY preset split, would fix the problem. So i concluded my windows/displayfusion was cirrupt, couldnt be stuffed playing "debugger" and opted for a clean install of windows.

i used rufus USB standalone, had it download the lastest windows 10 iso image, create a UEFI bootable windows USB, rebooted, unplugged all drives except for windows, FDISKed my main drive, clean installed windows, went to the displayfusion website, downloaded the latest installer and installed.

well the problem immediately was the same. clean windows, clean displayfusion running the free pro trial.

if i adjust the bottom split by even 1 pixel (3839x1080), displayfusion immedilatey redraws the taskbars CORRECTLY, so i saved that monitor profiole as "workaround".

now if i reopen the monitor config and set the 3839 back to 3840x1080, it maintains the taskbars at the correct locations... it doesnt take split 1.1 taskbar and halve its hieght and overlay it over the main windows taskbar.

rebooting doesnt help. clean power off, power on doesnt fix it.

noow if i invert the T, and have the 3840x1080 ontop and the pair of 1920x1080 on the bottom. it works great, i can reboot, suspend, hibernate...

if i flip it back the way i want, it craps itself again.

its really really annoying having to use this workaround, i was about 2 days away from purchasing the pro lifetime license... im glad the problem presented before purchase, and not after.

can you help me fix it, so i can buy the license please.

1. it worked fine out of the box for a week.
2. it stopped for no reason, i didnt change anything.
3. reloaded windows, problem stilkl exists
4. used clean install medias for windows and displayfusion
5. really pissed off as i needlessly wiped windows.
6. when does clean install windows NOT fix something
7. please please please, help me!

- Further Info

I have switched harddrives, downloaded another fresh copy of windows, latest nvidia driver, display fusion.

proceeded to install clean windows, latest nivida driver, rebooted, installed display fusion. the same fault exists.

The fault is now consistent over 3 different clean releases of windows, each using a fresh and clean copy of display fusion downloaded from the official link each time, irrespective of using the windows display driver or the nividia official display driver.

please find detailed and accurate debug pictures.

please advise how and which log/debug files you need, and or the windows event viewer log also...

please assist.

workaround by opening splits, selecting the bottom large split,. adjusting its hieght or width by any amount of pixels and hitting ok, apply then ok.
now re-open the monitor config, and set the hight and width back to 3840x1080, it redraws the taskbars correctly and functions correctly UNTIL YOU REBOOT,

AND THE CYCLE BEGINS AGAIN.

I have some good news, and some better news! I was able to reproduce this issue in 9.7.0, and can confirm that it's already fixed in 9.7.1 Beta 3. If you update to the latest beta, you should be all set :)

  • On the Settings > Options tab, enable the "Check for new Beta (newer, unstable) versions" option
  • Click the Apply button
  • Click the "Check for Updates" button
