Hey guys, been working on this issue for a long time now and just figured out that display fusion was the issue. When moving my mouse in games I will get extreme stutters/fps drops caused by display fusion eating up the CPU. The higher the polling rate on the mouse, the worse this stuttering becomes. At 500hz, the issue is almost fixed, anything above 1000hz it becomes unplayable. I've heard that disabling application hooks fixes the issue, but that disables the main reason I use display fusion.

Yeah some games don't like when we hook into them. Did you disable the hooks for just that game via the compatibility tab, or globally through the advanced settings?

I had the same findings as OP. it took me months to realize the problem was displayfusion. I used the compat settings to disable everything since I don't use DF for any of that. Maybe there should be some warning or something, considering it is on sold on Steam

Agreed. It took me ages to realize it was DF as well. To the point of doing a boot drive format, installing software then testing a game before creating a restore point and installing another piece of software, one by one.

I had the same issue with Division 2. Disabling Application Hooks in Compatability as you suggested DID work.

I've disabled hooks for every single game on my desktop with

Code

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\*
and display fusion still seems to cause horrible lag in many of them.

Here you go, hopefully you guys can figure it out!

The game I've been having the issue with as of late is Slay the Spire 2 but it definitely happens in many games I play to the point that sometimes I just close display fusion while playing stuff.

Can you try out our latest beta and let me know if the issue persists?

I can confirm it persists.

When I'm not moving my cursor around I easily reach my capped FPS but as soon as I move the cursor it beings to stutter and goes down to half with lots of fluctuation.
