I'm using SnagIt (ver. 2021.4.4) and can't get Display Fusion to trigger upon launch of the SnagIt Editor window. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? The "Window Created" trigger doesn't work for some reason, and the "Process Created" trigger doesn't work because the SnagIt editor process is always running.

Hello,

It's likely an issue with snagit opening from the tray, so it doesn't technically "create" a new window. If you use the "Window Focused" event, does that work?

Thanks!

The editor opens not from the tray, but rather from a widget that runs at the top of the monitor for easy access. I suspect, though, you may be right in that the widget and tray mechanisms for showing the window may be the same. I've tried the window focused trigger and it doesn't work when the editor window appears. With that trigger, though, if I focus first on another window and then shift focus to the already displayed editor window, the editor window will jump to where I wanted it to open in the first place. So the window focused trigger doesn't solve the problem, and actually makes it worse because the window jumps away from my cursor when it receives focus. I believe Display Fusion cannot react to this type of a window launch, so I've asked tech support to consider adding a new trigger.

Hello,

I tested this out on my end, and it does look like the window isn't getting created/destroyed each time. The window isn't considered minimized or restored either, it's just set to "not visible" so unfortunately there isn't really anything we can do here.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Thanks for help! It's always good to know a problem can be replicated by someone else. It seems Display Fusion could benefit from a couple of new triggers - e.g., "Window Visible" / "Window Invisible."

Hello,

I'm not sure if that's something we can intercept to get a trigger to fire off, but I'll check in with our developers on that. If we're able to find a solution, we'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks!
