We're very excited to announce that DisplayFusion 10.0 (Beta 15) is now available for download! This version fixes some regressions in Beta 14 and fixes a few other recent issues.
DisplayFusion 10.0 (Beta 15) Changes
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where the desktop icon would sometimes fail to launch DisplayFusion
  • Fix: Taskbar no longer continually reloads when it can't set the work area (in this case it seems that explorer.exe has an issue that won't allow the work area to be set, workaround is to restart explorer.exe)
  • Fix: The change log text in the auto update dialog is no longer black when the DisplayFusion Theme setting is set to Dark
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where Triggers couldn't launch any functions
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where the license key failed to load on Windows 7
  • Fix: Resolved an issue with the DisplayFusion Photos Screen Saver transitions having a very low framerate
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where the wallpaper would be black when using the Website wallpaper source
Updating DisplayFusion
We encourage everyone to update to this new beta version today to take advantage of these improvements. If you've already purchased DisplayFusion, it's a lifetime license, so you can upgrade to this version at no cost! If you would like to see a complete list of all the changes, please visit the DisplayFusion beta change log. Thank you to everyone who is helping to test these beta versions, your feedback is what makes DisplayFusion so amazing. We would also like to thank all of the translators who have helped translate DisplayFusion to their native languages. Thanks everyone!

Would it be possible to download the Beta installs as .zip files? The .exe is now being seen as a threat under the IT policy.

Hi Carey,

You can download the .zip version of the beta under the "Download Without Installer" section on this page: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/

Thanks!

I am unable to install beta 15. Immediately after the language prompt, the installer pops up a dialog error box:
Runtime error (at 38:344):
Out of memory.

I have both the .NET 5 and 6 SDKs plus runtimes installed. I have plenty of free RAM. How do I proceed?

My antivirus (Bitdefender) is also flagging the installer and "cleaning" it.

@msayers Are you running 32bit or 64bit Windows?

@DigiVie Strange, did this happen right after logging in?

Thanks!

I tried that, but there is no installer in the zip. Should I just copy over the installed files, or is there a command line switch that will install over top of last beta version?

Thanks Owen!

@CareySundberg Ah sorry, I see what you're saying. You can grab a zip version with this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oagodjy0pm80ykv/DisplayFusionSetup-10.0-Beta15.zip?dl=0

You can install that directly overtop of your current install as well.

@msayers How much ram do you have on your system, and how much is free during the install?

Thanks!

I have 32GB of RAM, with more than 16GB free at any given time. The RAM usage doesn't even spike up in Task Manager when I run the installer.

@Owen Muhlethaler The dropbox link worked. But for future reference, are you saying that the .zip here with no installer can just be copied over top of the C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayFusion path as well? I'm thinking security may not allow it, but I am Admin on the box.

Thanks :)

Both 10.0 Beta 14 and Beta 15 hover around 60% CPU on Win 10 Enterprise. It just gets worse! I uploaded the dump for Build 14, but Build 15 performs just the same. Restarting DF yields the same.

Should I do this immediately after running the installer until it fails?

Interestingly, this morning, after a cold reboot and installing Windows Updates last week, the installer ran just fine. Strange, but I'll take it. Thanks for the help.

That's really strange! If this issue comes back in any future versions, please let us know.

Thanks!
