Updating from Beta 4 to 5 via the Displayfusion GUI did lock up the OS completely.
Had to update it with closing Displayfusion Beta 4 and started update through Beta 5 exe.

Are you able to reproduce it consistently when updating through the gui?

Okay strange, we haven't made any changes to our installer in a while. We'll take a look at the code and see if we find anything, could you let us know if this continues to happen with any future betas?

Thanks!

Hi there, I downloaded the new beta this morning. It seems my Windows Position Profiles are no longer working properly. I have a profile for work and one for home. Each one is linked to a hotkey. However, pressing on the hotkey either doesn't work or the window positioning moves after a few minutes.

Alternatively, I went to Settings > Window Position Profiles and tried to load each profile. It worked, but there was a bit of a delay with a loading circle before the profile was loaded. Any ideas?

Could you send me over a debug log when you run it via hotkey? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and then click "Clear Log"
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Here's the log. I started logging and cleared the log at 9:44pm EST. I pressed my hotkeys to move the windows (Win + F11 and then Win + F12). Initially it was swapping back and forth with no issue. Then I moved some windows around manually and tried again (still 9:44pm EST) with no movement. It wasn't until 9:46pm EST when the windows moved back.

Is it specific windows that aren't moving, or all windows?

Some windows move, and some don't. Also, after the first time hitting the hotkey, they either don't move anymore or there's that huge delay before some windows move again.

I reinstalled Beta 4 for the time being, and it's working perfectly fine now again. Just FYI.
