Hello everyone! Here is a new build that fixes a few issues. The taskbar window previews now work much smoother, and look better in Windows Vista/7. Also, the taskbar item tooltips have been moved above the preview window so that they don't get in the way. I would love to get any feedback (good or bad) on this build. If no issues are found I will release this build as 3.0.4 final next weekend. :) Thanks!

I honestly don't see any difference the way the taskbar looks, but I also have mine with 50% transparency....

I noticed that clicking on items in the taskbar also allow for minimizing of items, but sometimes it is a bit buggy (you have click on it a couple of times before it realizes that you want to minimize it on click the first time some apps are run (namely Mozilla apps) but after that it seems to do well....

Unlike other folks, though, I cannot ever get DF to break - not sure why but it chugs along perfectly well....
I am I.

@John: I'm glad to hear that it works well for you. I think it works well for 99.9% of the users, because my email volume has been steadily dropping after each new release. I many of the issues are conflicts with existing software (A/V software... etc). I have noticed the window minimizing issue before as well, and this version actual improves that area. Please let me know if you still run into any issues with it. The real change with the taskbar was the look of the taskbar previews, not the taskbars themselves. :)

LOL - wow, I wonder what happened there. What size was the actual window?

It's just a small sliver at the top of the window. It may be picking up the dimensions of one of the other windows (that aren't currently open...)

This build has made a serious dent in the CPU usage. running at 0-1% constantly on 3 different machines (2 vista, 1 Win7)

My bad - I misread the first post - missed the word preview completely.....

I think that may be it - it is unable to discern that the slim mode at the top is really not the actual size of the app....

Yeah, although I never had major resource usage to begin with, as of now with all my IMs turned off I am reporting 0% almost always....

@John: I'm glad to hear that. I've fixed the preview size issue and released another quick build.

Been experencing one problem with this build. Haven't tried the latest build yet.

Running VMWare workstation full-screen on 2nd monitor (right hand side). When I switch focus back on laptop screen (left), the DF taskbar appears on top of the VMWare screen.

If I switch focus to the VM screen, it doesn't hide itself. I have window the VM, then fullscreen it again.

Windows Vista, SP1 x64.

Cheers

Which version of VMware Workstation? I'm assuming 6.5, but I just want to make sure I test with the same version.

I've tried out the May 4th beta and it seems to work fine with VMware Workstation. Are you talking about the F11 full screen mode? Would you be able to try out the May 4th beta? Thanks!

I just tested with VMware Player 2.5.2 under Windows Vista x86, and it seems to be working perfectly for me. I'm going to post another beta tonight. Can you try again with the May 5th beta and let me know how it works?

Ok. Turns out I was using 2.0.3 of VMWare Player. I upgraded that to 2.5.2, and installed the may 5th beta, and we're all(most) sweet.

If I switch to the primary display, the taskbar appears, BUT, if I give the focus back to VMWare Player, the taskbar hides.

That is more than sufficent for my needs, but your requirements may vary :)
