Here it is ladies and gentlemen. :) This beta is the first attempt at Windows 7 integration. It's not nearly complete yet, but I want to get it into the hands of my diligent testers (that's you!) so that any bugs can be reported. Please create a new topic for any bugs that you encounter. So many things have been re-coded in this release, the taskbar is almost completely new (behind the scenes). Any feedback you have would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I don't get text to the right of the icons on the second monitor's taskbar. I even added the TaskbarsIconsOnly registry setting and set it to 0.

I don't see a way to set the icons to Small size to match my Windows 7 taskbar.

When I tried unchecking Visual Styles, DisplayFusion would just crash on startup until I changed it back on via the registry.

But Finally the Relevant Windows option works in Windows 7! Congratulations and thanks for all the hard work!

@Zarniwoop: The "TaskbarsIconsOnly" setting isn't working in Windows 7 yet. :) I am working on the small icon support. I'll check out the "visual styles" setting issue, and have it fixed for the next beta. Thank you for reporting in, and welcome to the beta test. As you can see, things aren't always rosy, especially not in the first release. :)

@benway: I see that your taskbar button colours are a bit messed up. I am aware of this issue and am working on it. I like the looks of the new preview window's as well, much more "native" looking.

Jon,

This is absolutely awesome. The preview windows look great and the windows 7 styling looks great. As you are already aware my taskbar colors on the buttons are a little off. Is there any way to make the taskbar update a bit quicker? There is a slight lag from the time I drag a window onto display two and the time it shows in the taskbar. It only takes a couple seconds though.

Just for the record, the icon appearance and removal is nearly instantaneous on my end. Very snappy. (I've got an ATI 3870 card, AMD 64x2 dual core 5000+ and 4 gigs ram.)

@Apollo29: These are the things cause the taskbar to be updated:

- Releasing a dragged window
- Moving a window with any of the hotkeys, or the middle-click mouse option
- Every 1.5 seconds it polls for any changes

If it seems to be taking longer than 1.5 seconds I would say something is wrong. What version of the hook DLL are you using? It should be 1.4. Thanks!

It looks like you have the latest version, it's probably just taking a second to recognize the change. I've made a change for the next beta that should help it see the change faster. Do you have the window snapping option turned on or off?

I have window snapping turned off at the moment.

@Apollo29: I thought you might. :) I forgot to take into account people who have the snapping disabled. I was relying on it to help update the taskbar. In the next beta I have changed it so that it will update instantly whether snapping is on or off.

@Apollo29: No problem. :) I'm planning to have the next beta out Tuesday night, but I'll see how my testing goes tomorrow.
