Hi all,

i consistently get firefox (or it could be displayfusion and that causes firefox to freeze) freezing when using displayfusion.

the symptoms are the "change monitor" button disappearing and if i'm typing it stops showing up.
i usually have "quite a few" firefox tabs open but i know that it's NOT a memory problem.

My System Specs:
    AMD FX 8350 8-core 4GHz
    32 GB ram :)
    Win 7 64 bit (legal)
AMD Radeon 7970 3GB (1 monitor on Display Port, 1 on HDMI)

Strange! Could you do the following to help troubleshoot this issue?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Thanks!

Here's the Log & Debug info

first occurrence is ~21:12 and then again @ ~21:14

was reloading a page and it timedout.
most of the time i can be just scrolling down a page and it will "stick", the button disappears for a few seconds then everything's fine again (for a while)

Thanks! I can see in the log where Firefox is hanging, but there's no indication as to whether it's hanging because of something DisplayFusion is doing.

Could you try exiting DisplayFusion to see if you have any trouble with Firefox when DisplayFusion isn't running?

Thanks!

i think that Flash is somehow messing with Firefox.

it freezes with or without Display Fusion running. (Display Fusion just gives me a "visual cue".)

Yeah, we ran into the same issue here when we were testing on the weekend. DisplayFusion removes the TitleBar Buttons from hung applications, so that's probably what you're seeing too. I normally use Chrome, but know a couple of people who run Firefox and also run into issues with some sites that use Flash content causing Firefox to hang :(
