We're very excited to announce that DisplayFusion 9.2 Beta 3 is available for download! This release fixes a bunch of issues, and adds a new feature, Window Position Profiles!

Note: The first time you click the Screen Saver tab in the Settings window, it will be slow to load due to Windows Defender scanning the updated screen saver files.

DisplayFusion 9.2 Beta 3 Highlights

  • New Feature: Window Position Profiles!
  • Taskbar no longer sits on top of the lock screen
  • No longer creates empty "Settings" folder
  • Task View fixes for Windows 10 1803

Updating DisplayFusion

We encourage anyone who likes to test the bleeding edge to update to this new version today to take advantage of these improvements. If you've already purchased DisplayFusion, it's a lifetime license, so you can upgrade to this version at no cost! @Jeffen: Could you attach a backup of your settings so that I can have a look at how the positions got saved for those windows?

9.2 Beta 3 didn't fix this for me.
Since update to W10 1803 the taskbar sits on top of the (blank) second display while in lock-screen.

I can even run programs from there. I don't know with what rights, since no one is logged in at that time.
I think this is a security concern!

Any luck on fixing the known issue "Start menu moves back to primary when typing to search."?

attached the exported settings.

updated to beta 4 and still having the same problem.

it works for the teamspeak 3 window but only if it is minimized and sometimes it creates a completely white/black clone of that window that i cannot close without shutting down teamspeak from the task manager.

it also works for the hardware monitor but only if it is minimized aswell.

doesnt work for µtorrent 2.2.1 at all. -edit: looks like the position window text is saved as the current speed of what you are uploading and dowloading so it would be quite rare for it to work.

If the windows are in their set positions and maximized, and the profile gets reloaded, the windows maximized within splits sometimes restore to window mode.

is there a way to set up wildcards for these windows? if i want all discord windows regardless of what the windows text is (if i saved the profile in a different channel) to move to a position, is that possible? maybe registry edit?

We're planning to add the ability to edit the saved entries for 9.3, for things like that where there is unique text in the window titles :)

So i'll just have to wait for that update until i can start using the feature?

Yeah, it's not ideal, but we should have something working within a few weeks.

We've just released DisplayFusion 9.3 Beta 1, and it now allows you to edit the entries in the Window Position Profiles. If you remove some text from an entry (e.g. the page title from an entry for Chrome, then it will be a more generic match that will match all Chrome windows).

Hope that helps!

It definitely works much better now, thanks!

I'm still getting the cloned completely white window when running it on the teamspeak window, did you get anywhere with that?

I haven't been able to reproduce it here, no. Could you send me a debug log?
  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

at around 15:56:43 the script runs and the second blank ts3 window gets created.

16:10:45 im running the script and neither the hardware monitor window nor the teamspeak window get moved.

16:11:10 im running the script when the hardware monitor and the teamspeak window are MINIMIZED now the teamspeak and the hardware monitor window moves to its correct spot.

Thanks! Is it the main TeamSpeak window that this is happening with?

I can't seem to reproduce the issue with TeamSpeak :(

Could you send us a Support Request through the DF Settings window (Help > Support Request) and enable the checkbox to include a settings backup?

Just sent in the support request. Did you get anywhere with the hardware monitor and ts3 window only getting moved when minimized?

Did some more testing and narrowed it down a bit more.
1. minimize the ts3 window
2. have a TRIGGER set up to load the window position profile
3. activate the trigger
4. the ts3 window should now be cloned and the clone be completely blank

The trigger definitely has something to do with it. loading the position profile from the DP window does not exhibit this behavior in any of the scenarios i tested, its only when it is set up as a trigger that it does not work.

It appears this problem is connected to the hardware monitor window as well because when running the TRIGGER the hardware monitor window moves as normal whether it is minimized or not, while loading the profile from the DP window only works when the window is minimized.

This is the hardware monitor im talking about, it is detached as well.
