We're very excited to announce that DisplayFusion 9.6 Beta 8 is now available for download! This version fixes up a few monitor configuration issues, as well as a few smaller issues.

Important Notes!

  • The first time you open the Settings > Screen Saver tab after installing 9.6 Beta 8, it will be very slow to open, due to Windows Defender locking the .scr files for a long time during the initial scan.
  • If the auto-updater fails to run, please try disabling your anti-virus before running the updater.

DisplayFusion 9.6 Beta 8 Highlights

  • Note: If auto-updater fails to run, please try disabling your anti-virus before running the updater
  • Change: Added a "Restore Trial Key" button to License Key tab for those that want to switch between Free and Pro during the trial
  • Change: Added a Trigger rule option to skip the rule if the desktop is locked
  • Fix: Setting high refresh rates (e.g. 120 Hz) with DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration should now work in all cases
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where Functions didn't work correctly in some cases (e.g. connecting via RDP)
  • Fix: DisplayFusion can now disable NVIDIA helper processes when using Surround + Monitor Splitting with DCH drivers
  • Fix: My Images wallpaper source now supports JFIF image format
  • Fix: Disabled tooltips in list views if the text is not already truncated
  • Fix: Selection on Settings > Compatibility tab will be retained after applying the settings
  • Fix: HPE Product Bulletin app now moves to DisplayFusion taskbar correctly

Re the beta change log note about the auto-updater failing to run, please note that we do not all have the ability to turn off our antivirus protection. I, for example, use DisplayFusion on my work laptop, and corporate IT takes control over what we can and cannot disable. Anti-virus is a biggie with them, and rightfully so.

Hopefully this is just a temporary inconvenience. Anyway, THANKS for your software. It keeps me sane!

Yep, valid point! We're currently just monitoring the situation, as it seems to be an issue with only certain antivirus packages. Once we've gotten some more information what's happening here, we'll definitely look into a way to work around it from our end :)

We run SymantecEndpoint V14 and the Beta 10 update is identified as infected with Heur.AdvML.B and is then deleted.AV is an IT policy and cannot eb switched off.

Thanks for the heads up Nigel! It looks to be a false positive, as a VirusTotal scan shows 0 detections: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/71f158a2f1356e8a510b926de9f7d576f25efc9a3e08ba70efdc3a8643db6c51/detection

If you're able to get the antivirus client to update the definitions, could you try running the update again?

Since installing version 9.6 i can't switch between my Monitor profiles.
I have 2 profiles triggered with shift+F1 and shift+F2 but the triggers don't work. It doesn't work when switching manually either? Is there a way to go back to version 9.5?

Apologies for the trouble here! We're working on fixing up the 9.5 profile imports for a quick point release this week. In the meantime, here's the link to download 9.5: DisplayFusion 9.5

We've just released DisplayFusion 9.6.1 and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

@iwtsyb: You're having trouble loading monitor profiles with 9.6.1? Are you getting an error when you try to load it?
