Beta 6 is out and I am working it, but I didn't find a Beta 6 announcement post that I could lump my findings into. Is there one? If not should I just create it with my findings?

Hello,
@SQLG0d, We never posted one, as beta 6 just contained some hotfixes for beta 5. You can post any findings here, or create a new thread if you would like. @JonathanLeduc54000 What version of windows are you currently running? Thanks! Nov 26, 2020

Hi Jonathan,
On that version of windows, there seemed to be crashing when edge was pulled off the main taskbar, so our beta includes a fix to leave edge on the main taskbar so it won't crash. As I mentioned, it is only for that version of windows, so any further updates shouldn't have this issue. Thanks! Nov 27, 2020

Also, since that version of windows is THE version people are/will soon be using, shouldn't your fix actually be to make your program not crash under said conditions? Or is that what you meant by "further updates shouldn't have this issue"? If so I would have expected a reply such as "this issue is fixed in the soon-to-be-released beta 7". Nov 30, 2020

Hello,
In Beta 5, we included the fix for any version pre 20H2. In Beta 6, we included the fix for just version 20H2, as that's where we isolated the problem to. It seemed to be a windows issue for version 20H2 that they fixed up in their latest insider build. For that reason, we included the hotfix to not take it off the windows taskbar for 20H2, but once the insider build becomes public, everything should be back to normal. The crash is caused by removing the Edge icon from the Windows taskbar, and since there's only one Windows API for removing an icon from the Windows taskbar, the only option we had was to just not remove it from the Windows taskbar. Hope that clears things up! Dec 3, 2020
