I have experienced this issue two times in the previous week. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, DF8 Beta 6, and likely had Chrome, Firefox, VLC, and Black Desert (game that runs in full screen windowed mode) running both times. What happens is I will click a window on the taskbar, and the taskbar instantly freezes up. Click again and Windows says that DisplayFusion.exe isn't responding, so I end the task. When I run DisplayFusion again, it becomes very buggy. Alt + Tab wasn't working all the time, but Alt + Esc would. The taskbar would eventually freeze up again, and need to be restarted, which I did a few times. After doing a reboot, everything was back to normal.

Here is the log that begins before starting DisplayFusion after one of its crashes.

Would you be able to attach a copy of your troubleshooting info?
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

Thanks! In the Settings > Advanced Settings, if you enable the "Disable Application Hooks" option and restart DisplayFusion, does that make any difference? You'll lose a bit of functionality, but this is just a test.

Thanks!

Well it didn't happen for a few days, even without disabling application hooks. Then, the day it did happen, I had level 2 logging enabled for one of the times, so I've attached that (CrashL2.log).

Another issue I've had only a few times is where the alt + tab window doesn't show up, and it doesn't switch between windows either. Pressing alt + esc works when this happens. Restarting the program fixes it fortunately. If you wanna look into it, I also attached a L2 and L3 log in which I started logging, pressed alt + tab once, and copied the file.

Here's the L3 log for the alt + tab bug. Same settings as the previous post a few days ago.

Sorry for the late reply! I have passed on the logs, so I'll be sure to post an update when I have more news.

Thanks!

Sorry for another late reply on this! If you haven't already tried, could you update to DisplayFusion 8.0 and let me know if you still run into this issue? We're now targeting .NET 4.0, so I'm hoping that whatever was causing this to happen is fixed up in .NET :)

Appreciate it...I have been keeping up to date with the betas, and actually forgot about the issue entirely. It must have been fixed in beta 9 or 10! Thanks
