Hi,

After loggin in to Windows 10, Displayfusion doesn't start rightaway. The second taskbar on my second monitor doesn't show rightaway and the Displayfusion system tray icon also takes some time to show (about 4 seconds). I have a SSD and a pretty quick pc and don't need this delayed startup.

Can I adjust the Displayfusion settings somewhere so it'll instantly start after loggin in? Or is this some sort of Windows setting?

Thanks.

Yeah, unfortunately we don't have any control over that. We're not adding a delay, it's just whenever Windows decides to start it up :(

Sorry!

Thanks for your reply, too bad. This must be Windows 10 specific than? Because I don't recall this behaviour in Win7 (could be wrong though).

It actually seemed to start with Windows 8. For some reason there's an extra delay in the startup programs since then :(

A delay in non-critical startup apps and services was implemented to speed-up the Windows boot time to desktop. If they didnt do this then all your apps would try to start at the same time thus slowing down the boot to desktop time by quite a lot but although you cannot get rid of a StartUp delay completely, you can reduce the delay time with a registry hack.
If you are comfortable with backing up your registry and editing it then post back and I will give you the steps.

Hi Alan,

Yeah I figured but under Windows 7 all my system tray apps loaded instantly without artificial delay and this wasn't any problem at all because of the SSD (thank god for SSD's). I would be very much interested in the registry tweaks so please post them. Thanks ;)

That link will show you how to edit the registry.

Did the tweak, Displayfusion is starting up a bit faster now but still somewhat delayed. It seems to load the system tray apps one by one instead of parallel like in Windows 7. Also, I believe it loads the last installed app at the end and I installed Displayfusion last on this OS. Ah well, I can live with this. Thanks.
