Hello,

I figured I'd split this off into a new thread as I don't know if it is related to the other issues I've experienced since updating to windows 10 2004.

I use a digital KVM by the name of Multiplicity. I've noticed that that when I am interacting with a different computer, the DisplayFusion taskbar constantly seems to be refreshing. I tried setting the compatibility mode to remove the application hooks from the multiplicity processes, but it still happens. It almost feels like the taskbar is crashing while my mouse and keyboard are redirected to the other monitor.

This didn't happen before the update to 2004, which is why I'm not sure if it's an issue with Multiplicity, DisplayFusion, or both due to the update.

Hi Mark,

Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for sending that over. Is the taskbar flickering, or is it completely disappearing and reappearing?

Thanks!

It's like it's flickering, but it's hard to explain. I've attached a video showing what it does.

We've just released a new beta version of DisplayFusion (https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Hi,

It would seem the issue is still persisting after the update. If it helps, I don't have any of the mouse options selected except for the scroll on unfocused windows.

I tried disabling that option and the issue still occurs.

I also use Multiplicity, but have not use my DisplayFusion with it. Will I also have this problem or is this problem a rarity with using Multiplicity?

The flickering in this instance seems to be limited to compatibility issue with Multiplicity, but I could be wrong. I use it all day long since I have my work computer and gaming rig connected with the KVM. Since I work from home I'm always seeing the flickering out of the corner of my eye.

Is that Beta 13 for DisplayFusion Pro 10? If so I'm already on it, and the flickering still exists.

Hello Owen,

I will say that the flickering is not as consistent as it was previously. It sometimes flickers a few times and then stops. Other times I don't see any flickering at all, and yet others it does constantly flash. So some change definitely has occurred towards the better.

I'll try and pay attention to it so see if there's any rhyme or reason to it, but I've been living with it so long that I tend to ignore the flashing that is in the corner of my eye from that monitor 😅
