This is my screensaver configuration:

Well, not only DisplayFusion TOTALLY ignores it and always sets BOTH displays to black, but to top it up it doesn't even come back from that black unless I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del...

Hi Jesus,

The screensaver runs on the secure desktop, so setting it to "Blank" or "No screensaver" will both return a black screen.

Are you trying to return from the screensaver on the same monitor that you have set to "No Screensaver" as well?

Thanks!

But that doesn't have any logic, "No screensaver" means... "*NO* screensaver", how could it possibly be the same as "Blank" or the user possibly know it?

If I set "Blank" on both displays there is no problem, but if I set "Blank" on one and "No screensaver" on the other it gets stuck in black, and I can only go back to my desktop using Ctrl+Alt+Del

What I want to do is to run the screensaver ONLY on my secondary monitor. How can I do that?
I know about the "Monitor Fading" feature, but it is not the same, as it doesn't disable itself with mouse movement or pressing any key, just with its own hotkey.

When you select "No Screensaver", DisplayFusion doesn't run a screensaver on that monitor. Because the secure desktop is run in the background, that is what's shown, which is just the black background. Blank will still run the screensaver, but it will also show a blank black background.

I wonder if the gap between your monitors is causing that issue. If you run the blank screensaver on the right monitor and no screensaver on the left monitor, do you still need to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring your desktop back?

We currently don't support running a screensaver on some monitors while still using other monitors, but we have this open as a feature request, so I've added your vote to it.

Thanks!

No, it works ok if I do that. But it doesn't if it is the right display which has the "No screensaver" setting.

Ok, hope you do.

This is likely due to the gap then, as your mouse can't get over to the monitor running the screen saver to stop it. Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

There is no gap, neither Windows display settings nor Nvidia control panel showed any gap: https://i.imgur.com/CCBODej.png and it's not about the mouse, it doesn't come back from the screensaver using the keyboard either. Only using Ctrl+Alt+Del.

And after updating Nvidia drivers yesterday DisplayFusion doesn't show a gap now. But the behavior is still the same.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter, because if it's going to show a black screen anyway there is no reason for me to use the "No screensaver" option over the "Blank" one.
