Hi,
On my PC, DisplayFusion itself starts quickly at login, but the hook processes (DisplayFusionHookApp32/64) only show up about a minute later. Until then, the TitleBar Buttons and the window management functions don't work.
Setup:
- DisplayFusion Pro 12.1.1
- Windows 11 25H2 (build 26300), fast desktop PC with an NVMe SSD
- DisplayFusion is launched by a Task Scheduler task at logon (the Run entry is disabled)
- DisplayFusionService is set to Automatic (not delayed)
Measured process start times (Get-Process StartTime) on today's login:
- DisplayFusion.exe: 08:37:04 (about 3 s after logon)
- DisplayFusionHookApp32 / HookApp64: 08:38:09 (65 s later)
What I already tried:
- Launching DisplayFusion first, from Task Scheduler: DisplayFusion.exe went from +30 s to +3 s, but the hooks still come about a minute later.
- DisplayFusionService switched from "Automatic (Delayed Start)" to "Automatic": no gain (the gap went from 35 s to 52 s on the next boot).
- With the service already running, restarting DisplayFusion brings the hooks up in about 7 s. So the delay only happens at login.
I couldn't find any advanced setting that controls when the hooks are loaded (only TaskbarsDelayLoadStartup, which is for the taskbars).
Is this delay intentional? Is there a setting or a workaround to load the hooks sooner after login? I'm happy to send DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html if that helps.
Thanks!
