Or am i missing something different?

The darn game allows your mouse to leave the screen without any additional software even in exclusive fullscreen mode which at first glance is great. Problem is, upon returning to the game - it refreshes in the same vein as if you had alt tabbed.

When your playing surround/sli this redraw takes upwards of 5-10 seconds. Not acceptable and is very by and large one of the reasons I use displayfusion for ALL my gaming/accessory display needs.

The problem w/ ffxiv is with or without displayfusion/prevent deactivation enabled, the behavior is the same.

Can we get ffxiv to behave as if it still has focus? What is causing the redraw is this all game-side and nothing can be done about it?

To add insult to injury, any display driver supporting wddm 2.2 and running on creators update (enabled wddm 2.2) will cause a freeze of the image requiring a pc restart upon "tabbing" back into the game. This leaves me stuck in inferior 378.xx drivers.

99% of the time this would be irrelevant as displayfusion makes alt tabbing into a game requiring a redraw something that NEVER has to happen. Unfortunately the one game that for whatever reason it does/is - FFXIV.

thoughts?

Unfortunately the redrawing issue would be on the game side. The DisplayFusion Prevent Window Deactivation function just tries to prevent the game window from getting notified when it loses focus, nothing else fancy going on there, so if it doesn't work, there isn't anything we can do from our end :(

Does the game run in true full screen, or "borderless" full screen?

Hi again, sorry for the delayed reply.

Its much easier to test than try to explain, no one with an account in office? lol.

It does run true fullscreen otherwise SLI wouldnt work. Its my biggest reasoning for using displayfusion. I run SLI because i run surround. Hence to reap the performance benefits of SLI i need to run fullscreen but at the same time I play mainly mmo's so having an accessory display handy is paramount.

In most games displayfusion lets me do both. In ffxiv its becoming problematic.

If i switch to borderless, I lose SLI but it doesnt redraw obviously.

The game is unique in that even in full screen it lets the mouse leave the game window. The problem is when you actually click on something else on the other monitor and then click back it redraws. If you simply leave to the other monitor and come back without giving anything else focus its fine.

It does have an option in game called "prevent mouse from leaving playing area" or something to that affect. If you check it then it behaves like any other fullscreen game would. I attempted to use this and enable displayfusion to allow me to leave the game screen which worked as expected. Of course when I gave the game back focus, it redrew again which was not expected/hoped for lol.

Nothing else I can really do so if theres nothing you guys can do, i guess its up to nvidia/ms/squareenix to solve/address and given the way they treat users of sli and especially surround, not holding my breath.

Thank you for your time regardless :)

No worries, there's definitely nothing we can change from this end that would help here, sorry!
