I paused the wallpaper changes and the crashes stopped. I unchecked "Use tRansitions when changing wallpaper". I would like to continue using the wallpaper slideshow as this is one of the main reasons I run DisplayFusion.

Here's a log file from DisplayFusion. The crash and restart of explorer happened at 15:06 in the log.

On the DisplayFusion Settings > Options tab, do you have the "Aero Colour Mode" option enabled?

If not, can you also check to make sure "Automatically pick an accent colour" is disabled in Windows Settings > Colours?

It's set to "Don't change the Aero color"

Ok, thanks for checking that!

If you disable the "Use transitions when changing..." option in the DisplayFusion Wallpaper > Wallpaper Settings window, does that make any difference?

That is also disabled. Not sure what hass changed but it's not restarting explorer as much. It doesn't happen with every wallpaper change.

Ok, interesting! Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

If you enable the "Disable Application Hooks" option in the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings window, does that make any difference?

Downgraded Windows 10 to build 18985 due to several other issues. The problems with explorer crashing has ceased. Thank you for your help.
