Hi there,

Can I use DisplayFusion to get Firefox to always open on main monitor? I'm wondering if this is doable? The reason I ask is I use an Android Nexus 7 tablet as a screen for my AIDA64 diagnostic data and every so often my Firefox window moves to the tablet and is hidden behonf my full screen AIDA64 data.

It's a bit of a pain and no matter how many times I maximise, etc. etc. it still happens. Only randomly though, which is infuriating.

I've installed the trial version, but can't seem to find an option to always open Firefox on monitor 1.

Anyone done this? I've seen it in Ultramon but would rather use DisplayFusion. ;)

Regards,
Lenny

Oddly, I couldn't get it to work. New windows could be handled and moved, but the very first window when launching FireFox never moved.

Firefox does some funky stuff on startup. If you create a trigger using the "Window Created" event, add in the file path to the "Process Filename" match condition, use a 1000ms "Delay before checking match condition", you can then add the "Move window to selected monitor" action and it should work.

We have a guide on working with triggers here as well: https://www.displayfusion.com/HelpGuide/Triggers/

The trigger itself never fires, though. It works fine with new windows spawned by Firefox, but the initial window shown by launching Firefox never triggers anything.

It seems to work fine here, is it an inital splash window that's not getting moved, or a regular browser window?

You can see in my screenshot that I am not trying to move any windows. I just have it show a notification. The notification shows if I used Ctrl-N or similar for a new window... no notification appears for launching Firefox.

Is there any difference if you launch Firefox from the Windows taskbar vs a DisplayFusion taskbar vs the start menu?

My test was a DF taskbar on a second monitor. That appears to be the problem as other methods seem to trigger the notification.

@JLJTGR Ah yep, I was able to reproduce that here, I've added it to our list to look into.

Thanks!
