Till some time ago I´m having an issue, I´m not sure if in previous version I have the same error or not… it could be a configuration issue?
Usually I work in big 38’’ screen, where I have divided in two “display fusion screens”, here the functioning of the windows works well (change from one screen to the other, maximize windows…). But other times I work in a smaller 27’’ screen. Here I don’t have the monitor divided, I don’t even have a configuration of display fusion, but as Display fusion is always awaked it affect, and doesn’t let me to maximize windows (with the windows button), what I can do is resize the window. If I close display fusion the problem is solved.

Could you send me over a video of the issue?

I have recorded the error in a video.

I have realized that the error, I think/it looks, only appears in the first time I switch on the computer in a new screen. If I restart the computer in the same screen it works properly.

Thanks for sending that over. Could you send me over a debug log as well? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hello Again,

I have tried sometimes to replicate the issue and record in the log file, but I have seen is tricky. Once I open the setting dialog of Display Fusion the issue is solved. So, if I open the dialog, I solved but if not, the issue persists, is no solved after some time for example.

I have saved Log file, I send attached. The issue i have seen from 8:10 to 8:16 more or less.

We've got a test build of DisplayFusion 11 Beta 1 that we're not quite ready to release to everyone through the auto-updater, but thought you might like to try out as it may resolve the issue you reported. This beta has some very big behind the scenes changes that will improve performance, speed up startup times, re-organizes the main settings window, and adds real time settings changes. We've done a lot of internal testing, but be prepared for a few bugs.

Please take a backup of your settings (Settings > Options > Export) before updating and store them outside of the default folder. If you need to roll back to 10.1.2, you can download it at https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/ and install it over top of the beta.

If you'd like to give it a try, you can download it here: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Data/Download/?Package=displayfusion&v11-test=1

Thanks for sending that over. Does this only happen with specific windows, or any application window?

Hello,

It happens with any window.
Now, my way to skip the problem is always I work in the small screen (27") is to restart the Display Fusion. Is not the best way but at least it solves.

I may take the opportunity to ask about other the problem I have. If you prefer, I can open other Discussion:
When I work in the big screen (38" display, divided in 2 "monitor") display fusion works well and I can enter in windows star menu in each part of the divided screen. When I remove from the big screen and working in the laptop screen (15"), the window star menu appears displaced to the right and I’m not even able to have access to all the buttons I have in the star menu.
Attached I send 3 screenshots of this issue. In the "Laptop screen 1" picture you can see the start menu displaced.

If you restart DisplayFusion, does the maximize issue start right away or does it take some time to happen?

That start menu issue might be due to an explorer refresh bug in our latest beta, we have it on our list to look into. If you open Task Manager and restart Windows Explorer, does the start menu start appearing in the correct location?

Hello,

As you say the "windows star menu displaced" error is solved if I restart de windows explorer. Anyway, I think the problem happen from time ago, not with the last beta. Now for example no I’m with the 10.1.2 official release, and the issue still.
