And ONLY when it is playing audio. If MM 2024 Gold is merely running, no cpu spike. The older MM version 4 does not cause the spike even with audio playing. With MM 2024, the spike happens whether or not the MM window is on the primary monitor (no DF toolbar) or on the secondary monitor from where it was launched (via DF toolbar there). Windows 11. All software concerned is on latest version.

If you add the app to the compatibility list in DisplayFusion and turn on "Disable Application Hooks" and then reboot, does the issue persist?

No, DisplayFusion.exe is still using about 5.5% CPU. Normally it's less than 1% on my machine. After I made the config change, I restarted the MM app and DF itself. Should I reboot the whole PC?

Same thing after system rebot, significantly elevated cpu.
I find it odd that an audio stream would interact with DF in some way.

Ok here's a log. I started playing the MediaMonkey 2024 audio around 13:50:33 and stopped around 13:50:50. The MM app was already open, but not playing audio, before I started logging.

Also, I've just now noticed that MM 2024 isn't the only app with a stream that is raising DisplayFusion's cpu usage - for example, MPC-HC video player does also on my machine. I haven't tested other apps. I have an old Intel cpu, 9900k, and using integrated graphics right now, if that helps.

Strange, I don't see anything interesting in the log. Is this a free app I can test out on my end? If so can you send over a download link?
I tested it out here but I can't seem to reproduce it. If you open Task Manager > Details, which DisplayFusion process has high usage?

Dang, it's completely consistent for me. It's the DisplayFusion.exe process.
I'm pretty stumped here. If disabling our hooks doesn't have any effect though, there likely isn't anything we can do from our end, we can't really control how other apps interact with DisplayFusion. Have you recahed out to MediaMonkey's support?

I get your reasoning, but on the other hand MediaMonkey playing audio isn't causing other processes besides DF to spike, and as I mentioned it looks like audio streams initiated by other applications also cause the DF spike. There might be some complex interaction at play on my system, which is an 18-yo install upgraded through several versions of Windows and several hardware generations, and has a lot of things installed on it. I'll see if it's any better after I upgrade my system to a 2024 cpu from a 2018 cpu, and lots of other newer hardware, which I hope to get done soon. Overall though, apps behave well on my system, just somewhat slow because of the hardware age.
If there's no resolution, I'll have to get myself off of DF, which will fix the problem.

Yeah that's really strange. Unfortunately we're a bit stuck without being able to reproduce it here, and no debug lines to go off. If we have anyone else report something similar, or if something changes here we'll let you know.
Thanks!
