I'm having the same issue reported here: www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=2483

Sometimes it takes a full minute for text I type to show up in the Microsoft Lync conversation window. I just today realized that it might be related to DF, so I disabled everything in the compatibility settings, and now the application is performing as expected.

I'm using 3.4.0 beta 3. Is there any way I can help you troubleshoot this?

This is definitely a known issue, and for now the solution is to just disable the "Allow this application to load DisplayFusion hooks" in the Compatibility settings for Lync.

We are going to be doing some testing with Lync soon and hopefully we can get the issue resolved permanently.

Thanks!

Actually, this may be more related to title bar buttons than the hooks. I'll keep you posted with anything I find out.

Awesome, sounds good. I'm planning to setup Lync in a test environment next week as well so that we can do some further troubleshooting.

Interesting, I have Microsoft Lync 4.0.7577.275 and have noticed a slight slowdown as well. For example, when I click on a name to open the chat dialog, the form opens, but no controls will display until after the Display Fusion Title Bar button displays. (see attached video for example) The delay is only slight in my case (I have also attached a video without Display Fusion with Lync for visual comparison). Also, the Title Bar Button will tail behind the window when dragging (this is rare); up to 100px away or more, but other times not at all.

Let me know if I can provide any other info.

I've been running with hooks enabled for communicator.exe for a number of days, but title bar buttons disabled, and I haven't experienced any slowdowns yet.

Awesome, good to know! We've been crazy busy this week so I haven't gotten a chance to setup Lync in a test environment, but it's still high on my priority list, so it will get done :)

Thanks!

Does it speed back up if you disable TitleBar Buttons for Communicator.exe? That's what works for me.

I've finally gotten around to setting up a Lync test environment, but Murphy's Law applied and I can't reproduce the performance issues :(

Do the issues occur over time? Or do they start as soon as Lync is launched?

Also, are the performance issues only showing up when opening up new chat windows? Or are there some other areas of Lync that I can check out for performance issues?

Thanks!

I only ever noticed it when I had chat windows open, but then again I almost always have chats open.

I've turned title bar buttons back on in the beta 7 "try 2" build. I'll report back.

Just wanted to follow-up and see if anyone's had any luck with the TitleBar Buttons and Lync in the latest 3.4.0 beta (beta 11).

Thanks!

I've run it for a day or so with Title Bar Buttons on, with B11 and now B12, and it's going OK. Unfortunately, I'm on vacation for the next two weeks and won't be around my work computer, so how about I update you if I run into any new problems.

Sure, that sounds great! We did make some changes to the TitleBar Buttons, so hopefully they resolved the performance issue :)

Awesome, thanks for the update deanis.

@DigitalSnow: Can you confirm whether the TitleBar Buttons are working better with Lync 2010 in the latest DF Beta version (currently 3.4.0 Beta 13)?

Thanks!

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion Discussions, this topic is being marked as Complete as it hasn't received a response for more than 30 days. If you're still having trouble and would like some help, just let me know!

Thanks!
