This morning, I updated DF to the latest beta (15) and I'm now seeing an issue where the window minimize animation no longer goes to the correct monitor. It always animates to the primary monitor, regardless of which monitor the window is on.

Previously, this was working fine, except for a few cases -- usually right after reconnecting a disconnected monitor -- and when that happened, I could resolve it by moving the window back and forth between monitors and it would animate properly again. With this version, no matter what I do, I cannot get the animation right. I've restarted DisplayFusion, and it still doesn't work. The only thing I haven't tried is a reboot.

It's only been a day and the animations are already really distracting me. Is there a place to download old DF beta versions to see when this started happening? The last version I was happy with was beta 13 (never tried 14).

Here's the download link for 5.1 B13: http://www.binaryfortress.com/Files/DisplayFusionSetup-5.1.0-Beta13.exe

Could you also try 5.1 B16 when it's available? We should be posting it some time today.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the same bug is present in beta 16.

Ok, could you send us a new debug log?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Thanks!

Here is the troubleshooting log as requested. This was reproduced using 5.1.0 beta 18. The time was 1:06pm, but the issue affected all windows on the secondary monitor, whether they were already open or newly opened.

FYI, shortly after making that post yesterday, I rebooted my computer to install Windows Updates. After that, I couldn't reproduce the issue. It had been a while (1-2 weeks?) since my last reboot, if that makes a difference.

Ok, interesting! Please let me know if it occurs again. We'll still check out the log to make sure there's no obvious bug that we're missing.
