Hi there,

Since upgrading to Windows 10 I've noticed a minor bug(?) in the "Move Window to Centre of Monitor and Size to 75%" function which I use frequently. When used on certain maximised windows the resulting window resize will be slightly incorrect and running the same function again will slightly resize the window a second time. Further execution of the function will have no effect (as is expected), but the issue can be reproduced the next time the function is called after maximising the window.

I've noticed this issue on the following apps:
- Windows Explorer
- Mozilla Firefox (v43.0.4 x64)
- Google Chrome (v47.0.2526.106 m x64)
- VMware Workstation (v12.1.0)
- Sublime Text (v2.0.2 x64)

However, it doesn't affect these apps, which resize perfectly:
- Outlook 2016
- OneNote 2016
- Visual Studio 2015

I'm running DisplayFusion v8.0 Beta 2 and it might also be important to note my scaling is set to 150% (on a high DPI display).

I recognise this is a minor issue but it'd still be great if this could be fixed at some point for the obsessive compulsive people ;)

Keep up the awesome work on DisplayFusion!

Kind regards,
-SDL

Sorry, I should have mentioned: this issue only affects certain software (as listed previously) when the window is maximised. If the window is not maximised, the resize to 75% function will size the window correctly first go.

Thanks! We'll test this out here and see what we can find out. I suspect the scaling has something to do with it, as I just did a quick test on 100% scaling and couldn't reproduce this. I'll keep you posted as soon as we have more news :)

Finally had a chance to test this out here, but wasn't able to reproduce it. Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info? Just want to see if I've missed something.
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

Ok, I've setup a test machine with the same monitor layout (and scaling) as yours, and still couldn't reproduce this issue. I have a couple of follow-up questions:
  • Which monitor does this happen on?
  • Are you running that function via the key combination, or a TitleBar Button?

Thanks!

Oh! Well, I feel silly now. For some reason I was expecting a bigger discrepancy on the first run of the function. I do actually see what you're referring to now, where it's pretty close on the first run, then on the second one it's correct.

Thanks for being patient while I figured that out! I've added this to our list and we'll be sure to let you know when we've gotten it all fixed up :)

Awesome, thanks Keith. Yeah, it's pretty small, though on my setup easy to notice on the second resize, but how noticeable it is no doubt differs between different screen resolutions and DPI settings. Thanks again!

Confirming this appears to be fixed in DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta 7. Great stuff Keith!
