Hello, I have been a long time user of Ultramon and today made the switch to DisplayFusion. The main reason I made the change is the virtual monitor splitting of my Eyefinity span.

I currently have an Eyefinity span of a two 1920x1080 displays with a 1280x1024 display in the middle. In Eyefinity they are all aligned at the top, and I use the virtual splitting to cut off the 50 or so pixels that are not viewable on the middle screen.

Now, he's my problem. I often am using windows remote desktop to access other computers, when I have these set to "full screen" it attempts to use the 5### x 1080 destkop, which I had expected it to. Normally what I would do is set the resolution within the RDP client to specifically 1920x1080 and then that way when hitting full screen it would properly fill that monitor. However it seems to be listening to Windows (and not the virtual splitting) for full screening this client. Also, when I windowed mode any applications and try to resize, I am unable to drag over the task bar of any window which doesnt seem to happen when DF is off.

Either way, the virtual splitting has made me take the leap from Ultramon to DF and I don't plan on going back.

Attached is a picture, showing the large black areas on each monitor while it centers it.

The other is an example of applications not automatically using all space available on the display when maximizing, also am unable to drag into that area. I am able to resize it and move it into place carefully, but its a hassle

Thanks for making the switch!

For the Remote Desktop issue, you'll need to run it windowed mode. You can do that by launching it from a Run prompt like so: mstsc.exe /w:1880 /h:1040 (those width and height values are estimated to account for the window borders, you may need to play with them a bit).

For the issue of windows not maximizing to the full height of the monitor, if you disable the "Taskbars" checkbox in the "Use these features with splits" section of the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window, does that make any difference?

Thank you for the reply! I have since created monitor profiles that utilize the 3 monitors instead of eyefinity's "1" monitor. This however is not the way I would like to have it. I completely understand that what I want and what is possible are two different things.

I will try again with eyefinity and monitor split later today, I have a feeling what you suggested will do the trick as I have disabled DF taskbar on the a monitor and it would all things to not hit an invisible border at the bottom of the screen.

Another thing I have tried (to settle the monitor preferences of two users) is created a monitor profile specific to each user, with triggers to switch monitor profiles when DF is started, or desktop unlocked. So far it works, with the exception of an error that appears when switching from one user to another both are already logged in. Now... how many more situations can I cram into this post? :D Sorry, switch from ultramon to df has brought so many potential setups to mind. I'll try to grab a copy of the screenshot error.

I think I see the issue within the error, but do not know where it is getting this info. Monitor ID 4

I switch users and use a trigger for unlocking of desktop to apply monitor profile. Application of monitor profile is successful despite error. Error is below:

An error has occurred while applying your new Monitor configuration.
Please check your settings and try again.

If you disable that Trigger rule, and just try to manually load the Monitor Profile after switching users, do you get the same error?
