I have a rather old Winamp plugin installed (Cubicle Client) but it's the only one that functions the way I'd like. On my 2 monitor setup, I can open it from the DF taskbar icon and the program itself opens on the DF monitor. This is all working correctly. The problem is the running icon then only displays on the main taskbar, not DF. When I edit the icon, I have it forced to open on the correct monitor and launch as admin. But I can't get the taskbar icon to stay on the DF taskbar!

Could you do the following to send me some more information about the application window that's having this issue?

  • Install one of our other apps, Window Inspector: https://www.binaryfortress.com/windowinspector (it's free)
  • Open the affected application
  • Open Window Inspector
  • Hover over the affected window with your mouse so that the affected window's info shows in the Window Inspector window
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F1 to freeze the timer in Window Inspector
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F2 to save the info from Window Inspector to a file
  • Send me the file from the previous step

Thanks!

We're getting ready to release DisplayFusion 9.5 Beta 2 and this issue will be all fixed up in it. It's not posted publicly yet, but you can download it here if you want to give it a try: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Files/DisplayFusion/DisplayFusionSetup-9.5-Beta2.exe

Thanks!

Could you send me a download link to the plugin you're using? I tested with the standard winamp app here and it seemed to work fine

It's a 20 year old piece of software that isn't really available any more. I could go through the whole Windows Inspector path again if it would be helpful?

OK, thanks, I'm going to revert back to the latest stable build until it's fixed. Something in one of the last beta builds did it.

I tested that app here and the titlebar icons seemed to show up. What version of the app are you running?

I am using Essential PIM Pro 12.5.5 (Build 1068 ). I use two monitors arranged vertically. My primary monitor at the bottom uses the Windows taskbar, and the upper monitor uses the DisplayFusion taskbar. When I open EPIM Pro, the icon appears only in the Windows taskbar, even though the application is launched on and displayed on the upper monitor.

I think I have the same issue after updating to DF 12. The application "mobaxterm" would show up only on my primary monitor's taskbar. No matter on which monitor the application window is, the taskbar button remains only on the primary monitor. On DF 11 it was working correctly.

Mobaxterm is fixed in 12.0.2 Beta 6. Essential PIM Pro and Cubicle Client are still open on our list as they are separate issues.

We don't publish our open issues list publicly, sorry. Could you grab some new info for me?

  • Update to the latest version of Window Inspector
  • On the toolbar, click "Show Owner Tree"
  • Expand the entry for CubicleClient.exe
  • Take a screenshot and reply with it attached
  • Lock onto the Cubicle Client window with Ctrl + Shift + F3 and save a copy of that info as well and attach it to your reply

Thanks!

@tuftsanti: Sorry, we're having some issues getting this fixed up. I've looked over the information and I can't see why it would be ignored by DisplayFusion. Would it be possible to send us a copy of the software so we can test in-house? If that's not possible can you get another Window Inspector screenshot from the Owner Tree window just like you did before except this time click the "+" symbols next to each window for Cubicle Client? I need to see more information about each window in the process. Sorry this has been so difficult, I'm just unsure of the cause here. Thanks!

When we run this here it works correctly, the taskbar button moves to the DisplayFusion taskbar. Could you send over the Window Inspector info again but with the sub-items for Cubicle Client also expanded?

I decided to check for myself if I was still having issues, so updated to 12.0.2. Possibly something you've done in the latest update fixed it entirely as it now loads on the correct window. I don't know if it's fixed for good, but it seems fixed for now!
