Hello,

From a while, i would say one year at least, I’m having problems with the behaviour of how are opened the secondary window of programs. Some of them are opened maximized, I can’t find any adjust to prevent as I’m always making them smaller to let me see the main window content.

Im quite sure this behaviour comes from DP because if I close DP there is no issue.

The program with I struggled the most is Excel, I have been adjusting DP “Window management” option and with this actual configuration I have solved some window maximization but on all:

DP configuration (as can be seen I have recently installed the last beta 11.2 (Beta 7) to see if the behaviour is different but no, is the same): (see attached picture)

With this configuration I have different behaviour with Excel different secondary window:
- Ribbon: Main-“Start” / (Any color change drop-down button) / “More Colors… --> OK, no maximized (If I unselect DP conf “Center non-overlapping child windows over parent window“, the window is maximized)

- Ribbon: Formulas / Name Manager --> Wrong, this window is always maximized with all the configuration changes I have tried.

You can create triggers to control the location/size of those specific windows, we have a guide on creating triggers here: https://www.displayfusion.com/HelpGuide/Triggers/

You'll need to use the "Window Focused" event for it to work with those sub windows, and you can use the "Window Class" match condition to get it to fire on those specific windows while avoiding the main Excel window.

Hope that helps!

Thank You for the answer. The options you are suggesting is other option but it will require to create a lot of triggers. Is possible to disable completely this behaviour (No maximize any window)?

That's not something we currently support but it is on our feature request list so I've added your vote to it.
