Hello,

I can't set the proxy authentication settings correctly. Even after providing the username and password I still get refused by the proxy with an HTTP 407. Same if I use the Internet Explorer settings. I can use the IE to reach the www.displayfusion.com, though. I think the proxy uses AD. Unfortunatelly, the proxy can not be set to not require authentication for this site and Flilckr, for instance.

By the way, when I try to search for a string in the Wallpaper Flickr screen, I get this error instead of a connection error:
An error occurred while loading the images.
Root element is missing.

If your proxy uses AD, have you tried specifying the domain name in your username, like "domain\username"?

Yes. I have also tried to take the IE connection settings, which works but with no luck.

So my assumption is the DisplayFusion doesn't work with AD proxy authentication. Is this correct?

It should work but I'll do some testing. Do you know what proxy system your company uses? I'm assuming it's Microsoft ISA Server or Forefront Threat Management Gateway?

Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I don't know what is the proxy. Also, they wouldn't tell me, it seems to be a security issue. If there is any way I could find it out by myself, please let me know.

Thanks

Ok no problem. I don't think there's any way you can find out, so I'll just test with Microsoft ISA Server and we'll go from there.

Thanks!

I finally got a chance to setup a test environment for this and have indeed confirmed that it's not working. We'll be working on a fix for this soon.

Thanks!

Good news! This will be fixed up in 3.4.0 Beta 14. I'll post another update when it's released so you can test it out.

Thanks!

3.4.0 Beta 14 is out now, could you give it a try when you get a chance?

Thanks!

Looks better. I entered my credentials (didn't want to pick them up from the InternetExplorer settings) and now I get this error when trying to get the newest version and when trying to connect to Flickr:

An error has occurred.
The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine

Can you try selecting the "Use Internet Explorer connection settings" option in DisplayFusion and see if that works for you? Thanks!

Hi, I'm using the 3.4.0 Beta14, now set to get the IE settings. The results seems to be the same:
Could not load the latest version number.
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.

Ok, we've made a few more changes to the proxy settings in 3.4.0 Beta 15. I'll post an update when it's released so that you can test it out.

Thanks!

We've posted beta 15. Could you give it a try when you have a chance? You should be able to set it up manually by entering the server IP/port, and use domain_name\username and the domain password.

Thanks!

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion Discussions, this topic is being marked as Complete as it hasn't received a response for more than 30 days. If you're still having trouble and would like some help, just let me know!

Thanks!
