Is there a published API or command list for the remote control server?

I am working on ways of using a Streamdeck and Bitfocus Companion to (remotely) trigger functions on Windows PCs. Since I already own and use DisplayFusion, it might have everything I need.

I already have scripts setup that mute and unmute my system, but what's missing in terms of remote control is mute status. I need to it to be able to show the current mute status accurately. Feedback or status of other system or application settings/parameters would be helpful too.

Any info on this?

Hmm, I'm not sure the remote control app/server was designed to return info to the app. The remote control app can run built-in and custom scripts defined on the server. If the remote control app is installed on Android, it has Tasker integration to run the same things. I've never seen anything to suggest that data can be returned, though.
