At our organization, we use Royal TS (current version 6.1.60731) to manage our various RDP and SSH connections. I have also personally used DisplayFusion for a long time for the multi-monitor taskbar features.

Whenever I open Royal TS from a DF v10.0 pinned taskbar item on a multi-monitor taskbar, some weird behavior is exhibited. Royal TS will open fully maximized (desired state), but will then resize down to not maximized a few seconds later. The title bar button for Royal TS will show it maximized but it is not. You have to actually minimize it then re-maximize before it fixes. You can see the behavior in this video link in the protected attachments.

I can pretty consistently reproduce this issue from the DF multi-monitor taskbar pinned item starting point. If you start Royal TS from a Windows start menu or a Windows native taskbar item, the behavior is not exhibited. It opens on the secondary monitor, with a multi-monitor DF taskbar, maximized and stays that way. This behavior did not always happen, though I cannot pinpoint the exact version of DisplayFusion, Royal TS and Windows where it started. My Windows version is Win11 Enterprise x64 22H2 22621.2134. I noticed the behavior back in Windows 10 as well.

Royal TS support claims that this is a DisplayFusion issue. I am hopeful you can provide a suggestion.

Thank you in advance for any help!

If you right click the pinned icon and select "Edit this pinned item", is "Force application to start on same monitor as taskbar" enabled? If you disable that, does the issue persist?

Hi Owen! This was indeed checked, and disabling it resolved the issue! Thank you so much. I believe Royal TS somewhat recently implemented their own app logic to better remember monitor location/size, so I bet these were conflicting. Thank you again.
