Hi,
I'm having issues trying to get the screen saver to work.

Part 1:
It seems that no matter what settings I have, whenever I click the "Preview" button, it prompts me:

You must save your Screen Saver setting first.
Would you like to do this now?

I click "Yes", but nothing happens. Is there something else I need to do to save the Screen Saver settings?

Part 2:
Then I click on the DF Photos screen saver, I just get the default icon to show up on the little screen on the menu.
If I click on the regular "Photos" option, it seems to work correctly on the little screen on the menu.

Thanks!

DisplayFusion will always prompt to save the settings before previewing, but it should definitely show something after clicking Yes.

After you've selected the DisplayFusion Photos Screen Saver, did you click the Settings button to choose the folder that contains the images to use for the screen saver?

Hmm...yeah it is definitely not showing anything after clicking the preview button. And the screen saver doesn't engage when it's set to either.

I did select the folder for the photos for DF photos. But even with a screen saver like ribbons, I'm getting the same results. No preview. No screen saver.

Ok, could you do the following to help troubleshoot further?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Try to preview the screen saver (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Thanks!

Thanks! It looks like something is triggering it to stop right away. Which version of Windows and DisplayFusion are you running? If you set the screen saver using the Windows settings, does it start correctly?

I'm running:
Windows 7 Home Premium.
Display Fusion Pro v5.1.1

If I set the screen saver through Windows, they all work (including "photos")....except for the DF one.''

Thanks again for your help!

Ok, interesting! Could you enable the screen saver in DisplayFusion again, and attach a copy of the DebugInfo.html file? It contains the Troubleshooting info, and you can find it by clicking the "Open Log" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab.

Thanks!
