When I move Skype for Windows 10 (not the traditional desktop app, the new one) to my other monitor, the taskbar icon stays on the main monitor, and a DIFFERENT icon appears on the secondary monitor. This is the monitor I always keep Skype on so it's especially frustrating. Attached are pictures of what it looks like (personal details blurred out for privacy) on either monitor.

This is an unfortunate issue that we're working on, it's because the new Skype client is a Windows Universal app, and not a true desktop app. Stay tuned for more updates. :)

I came here because I have the same problem. It's even worse if you have multiple Windows Store Apps on the second screen as it takes a lot of space on the primary taskbar.

It would be really nice to get a solution soon :)

Don't worry, it's on the list and we're working on it. :)

I'm glad I found this thread. I found this because I have the exact same issue. Thank you for working on it! I was curious if you had any time frame for completion?

Unfortunately we can't provide an ETA on it, but we will be sure to update this thread as soon as it's fixed up.

Thanks!

Still no news of a fix? More and more apps are affected by this issue...

We haven't found a way to fix it, no. The Windows API that we know of for removing a button from the Windows taskbar doesn't work on Universal apps :(
