As much as I love DF, one constantly annoying thing over the years has been (that now gets worse with apps like chrome with so many tabs open) that the DF buttons I've added and use and love, need to "go away" so I can in essence click the tab that appears under them. This is for apps like Chrome, Clover explorer tabs, etc.

So, a simple hotkey assignment to "make invisible" and temp remove the buttons (they already seem to have some algorithm that makes them try to get out the way occasionally but it's just not right sometimes). Example, set CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and DF buttons disappear and holding those keys I click my tab "X" now and let go, and the DF buttons return.

Example pic attached of the issue that a hokey would help to solve. Yes, I do realize there is an offset I can set - but I don't want that - I like where the buttons are, and moving them left would not help, anyway.

Not a super high priority, but I'd be willing to bet other hardcore DF users may also vote for this one if they are also hardcore tabbed window users like me and hate having to play bullseye or dodge the auto-hiding DF buttons, LOL.

On the Settings > Functions tab, there's a "Toggle TitleBar Buttons" function that you can assign a key combination to. Would that work for you?

Wow not sure how I missed that one! However, I will say a "toggle and release" would be nicer - example holding ctrl-alt-shift to click toggles off and upon releasing ctr-alt-shift they return. This way, not only can you not use only modifiers (may not be a way around that but apps like VMware do use only ctrl-alt) and it requires another primary key to use with the ctrl-alt-shift. And, as stated above, it is a single press and release to remove them, then an additional press and release (have to now remember to do it after whatever action needed them to move), etc.

Not a huge deal, but I wonder if down the line a "press and release" hotkey method could also be added?

No problem! I've added it to our feature request list, and we'll definitely give you a shout if/when we're able to add that type of toggle.

Thanks!
