Hey,

DisplayFusion has been great so far and I'm trying to get it exactly as I'd like it setup.

I have two monitors. An ultrawide that I usually split into three (although sometimes two or not at all) and my laptop monitor.

When the main monitor is split into three I keep the window I'm working on in the middle and other windows at the sides.

I'm often moving the windows into the middle to work on them.

If I move a window from the left into the middle then it means the window I had in the middle is behind it.

It would be awesome if the windows swapped places as I moved them.

So when I moved a window from the left to the middle what was in the middle would move to the left. If I moved what is in the middle to the right then the top window on the right would move to the middle.

Is that possible?

Thanks

There's a Scripted Function that you can download and modify for this :)

If you download this one: "Swap Topmost Windows on Monitors 1 and 2" you can change the monitor IDs on lines 24 and 25. For splits, replace the dots with 0s, like this: Monitor 2.1 would be 201 in the script.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply Keith.

I downloaded this script before my post, and I thought it might be the answer, but it looks to be for two monitors and I don't have the coding knowledge to expand it to work for three monitors!

One option is to download the script twice and name "swap left/middle" and "swap right/middle". You would just need to replace the 2 monitor ID's in the script with the correct IDs. When you run either script it will swap the windows as needed. One thing the scripts can't support is detecting you moving a window between monitors and running accordingly, you'll need to use the script to move and swap the windows for you. Thanks!
