When trying to right click a system tray icon the application sometimes doesn't open the option list or open the application at all. Is there something I need to enable or is this an issue with DisplayFusion? To be specific CCleaner doesn't open or display a right click menu like it does on the main windows taskbar. Applications like Steam although do work but require a few click to either align the menu right with the mouse.

We were able to reproduce this issue here, and I've added it to our list. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we're able to fix it up :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Hello,
Sorry for jumping in and being negative, you guys are doing a fantastic job with this software!

But this is an issue that has already been reported more than once.
For example I wrote about it in the steam forums over a year ago and got answered, by you Keith, that you would add it to your list.
You made a hotfix then and there to fix Discord (which was the software that I was using as an example) and that's super cool!
I love your support and that you really listen to our issues.
But you guys really have to get to the bottom of this issue and not just make hotfixes for individual programs.

I updated DF today. I think I'm on 9 beta 3 now, I'm not sure, I can only see 9.
Steam and other programs are still behaving the same.
I attached a GIF of what it looks like.
When the list jumps away to the side like this, the buttons are not following.
So to press the buttons, I have to press in the real location, and not where they seem to be.
Does that make sense?

Please don't think that I'm demanding that MY issues should get higher priority than all other users.
I just don't like it when you say that you are adding our issues to your "list" and then years go by and suddenly the same issue is new to you.

I love using DF even though I have some annoying issues with it. You guys are doing a great job.

Thanks for the feedback! We try to implement generic fixes whenever possible, but for things like this, they're unfortunately different for many apps. The right-click problem that OP reported was an issue with the specific applications not "getting" the right-click call from DisplayFusion. Your issue with the Steam menu is an issue with how DisplayFusion is placing the menu.

However! I can't seem to reproduce the issue with the Steam menu any more. I tested in 9.0 Final, as well as 9.1 Beta 1. Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info (steps below) and a backup of your settings (Settings > Options > Export).
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

Hello!
Sorry for not responding sooner.

Okay I see.
I'm on version 9.1.

Is the information I attached the information that you need?

Yep, that's good thanks! I'll do some testing with your settings and monitor layout and see what I can find out.
