Hi. I'm having an issue, where if my monitor turns off, after I wake it up, all my applications are on both taskbars and if I maximase a window/application that window does not register that the taskbar is there and just covers it.

1) I have "Multi-Monitor Taskbar" feature disabled in DF.
2) Win settings for taskbar:
    Taskbar alignment - Left
Automatically hide the taskbar - false
Show badges on taskbar apps - true
Show flashing on taskbar apps - true
Show my taskbar on all displays - true
When using multiple displays, show my taskbar apps on - Taskbar where window is open
Share any window from my taskbar - true
Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop - true
Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels - never
Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels on other taskbars - never
2) DF - version 11.1.1 (Steam)
3) System: Win 11 (23H2 - 22631.5624)
4) 2 monitors

Currently the only way to fix this is closing DF. As soon as I close it Taskbar fixes itself.
Then I can restart DF until next time my monitor turnms off.

The work area usually needs to be reset when you wake your computer, we have an advanced setting called "Restart Explorer when Issue Detected" that will show a prompt to fix this up when it happens.

Hi, unfortunately, the prompt does not show up for me. Is there a shortcut/script or something that I could trigger to fix the issue temporarily?

Or is there a permanent fix?

If you manually restart Explorer via the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced, does that fix it up temporarily?

Yes, that seems to fix the issue temporarily.

You could create a bat file that runs these lines to restart Explorer, and then run it when the issue happens:

Code

taskkill /im explorer.exe /f
start explorer.exe
exit

Unfortunately if DisplayFusion isn't detecting the work area as broken when your computer wakes from sleep, there isn't much we can do from our end to handle it automatically :(

Yes, I already created something similar. Thanks.

Would be nice to know which DF component causes it in the first place.

Soimething that I forgot to mention and might be related - I also use Stardock's Fences (v6), could there be any type of compatability issue?

The issue isn't caused by DisplayFusion, it's caused by Windows reserving the wrong work area after waking from sleep. That's why just restarting Windows Explorer fixes the issue.

Fences likely isn't having an effect here, but it never hurts to try running without it and see if there's a difference :)
