Hi there

Problem: Since Version 7.0 the Taskbar is disappearing everytime after a new Boot from Win7 when i left mouse click first into the Desktop. This happens only one time after a fresh startup, using the Keyboard Windows Key reactivates the Taskbar and everything is fine. First i thought its related to a Windows Problem, thats why i overlooked Display Fusion. Version 6.12 is ok, but each Version with 7.xx ends with that Problem (new Beta 8.0 included).

Any Solution would be appreciated. Or i have to use the old 6.12 forever and cancel new updates.

Greetings

René Probst

System : Win7 SP1 64bit Ultimate, Dual Monitor(second Taskbar enabled)

Edit:

1. Start Windows 7
2. See Desktop with Taskbar
3. Klick into the Desktop with Left Mouse
4. Taskbar on both Monitors disappears
5. Press Win Key activates Taskbar again
6. No more Problems in this Session
7. Problem returns on Restart and so on

I can't seem to reproduce this issue here. Do you have the taskbars set to auto-hide?

No everything is standard, it belongs only to all 7.xx Versions. My 6.12 Version just runs fine. Any Idea?

I'm not sure what would be causing that! Would you be able to attach a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hi Keith Lammers

Same happened again with Version 7.34. Should be around
06:00 17.05.2016 in the Logs.
The necessary Files are included as you requested.

PS: Something must have changed in Your Software starting
with Version 7.xx

Thanks! The log doesn't show anything suspicious. I can see the taskbar getting setup, but there's no indication that DF is intentionally hiding it or causing it to reload. It's extra weird that the Windows taskbar disappears too. DisplayFusion doesn't have any code that would hide the Windows taskbar like that.

If you click on one of the taskbars at first boot, instead of clicking on the desktop, then click on the desktop after, do they still disappear?

Also, is there any chance you'd be able to capture a video of this bug? I'm wondering if I might spot something that I'm not thinking of :)

Thanks!

I only remember, that when i changed the Nvidia GPU Drivers sometimes it didn't happen!? But that is not everytime the same and sometimes nothing changed as seen at the Moment now (veryoldtonew). System GPU Driver Constellation? Nevermind i use the 6.12 Version t'ill someone get a Solution. Check what changed between 6.12 to 7.xx there must be the Solution.

Ok, thanks! Is there any chance you could capture a video of the bug? It might help our developers when trying to check for code changes that could cause this.

Here is a Video, bad Quality but you see whats important. Start move Mouse around, then click to desktop, Taskbar disappears, press Windows Key, Taskbar is back (tested with 7.34).

Could you give the latest DisplayFusion 8.0 Beta a try and let me know if you still run into this issue?

Thanks!

We've re-written some taskbar code for 8.0 that might have an effect on this issue. Could you give it a try when you have a chance? If this still happens, could you send over a new debug log?

Thanks!
