For a while I've had issues where when a program updates it won't open under a pinned button on the DF taskbar, and whilest annoying, I've put up with it because I can just unpin the old process and pin the new one. But after a Windows reinstall I'm having the same issue alongside certain programs just not opening when I click them on the DF taskbar, but working fine when I open them on the Windows taskbar (they will then appear under the pin on the DF taskbar). The two programs I'm currently having this issue with are Spotify and Windows Snip and Sketch.

Does anyone know where to start? I've looked through the settings and documentation but I couldn't find any mention of anything like this.

Hello,

Strange! Does this issue with applications not opening only happen after the application updates, until you re-pin the icon again as well?

Thanks!

I tried unpinning and repinning snip and sketch and it's still not working for the DF taskbar, I don't think that has updated so I'm guessing updating isn't the problem there. Spotify doesn't open from the DF taskbar either.

Hello,

Interesting, I tested both of those applications on my system and they seem to be working okay. Could you send me over a backup of your Display Fusion settings? You can grab them in the options tab of Display Fusion, using the "Export Settings" button.

Thanks!

I can't seem to post a reply with an attachment, is there a way I can send it?

Hopefully this works. I wasn't able to attach one to the ticket form.

There we go, I guess Firefox was the issue because I was able to do it with Chrome instead.

Hello,

Thanks for sending that over. It looks like I was able to reproduce the issue on my end, so I've added this to our list to look into. We've noted down your contact information, so we'll be sure to let you know if we have any news on it in the future.

Thanks!

Would that mean resetting my setup to default or reinstalling would likely fix my issue? I've been having issues with having to repin the programs on updates since before this install.

Hello,

Ah sorry, I was referring to the issue with applications not launching at all.

The issue with applications not launching after updates is due to the developers including the version number in the file path. Once the application has been updated, the file path is wrong which causes it to break. Unfortunately there's not much we can do there.

Thanks!

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
