Hi,

A niggly little issue.

I set Shift+Z in DisplayFusion Settings - Functions - Window Management - "Toggle Window Always on Top", and apply this setting.

I open 3CX (http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneforWindows14.msi) and press Shift+Z and the window stays on top off all other windows.

However, after I dial a number and when I press the "call" button, the setting to stay on top is lost, and I need to reapply it. the same goes for the "transfer" button (same location in the app, and comes up when I pick up a call and need to transfer it to someone else).

Note that dialing a number does not affect this setting - it seems only on "call", "transfer", "end call" - basically any button located at the bottom of the app.

Wondering if you had any thoughts or if this could be fixed?

Regards,
Stephen

My guess would be that the app itself is removing the always on top property either on purpose, or as a side effect of something else it's doing when you click those buttons. If you can attach a debug log from DisplayFusion, I can have a quick look to confirm that DisplayFusion isn't removing the topmost property for some reason. Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Hi Keith,

11:15:10 Is when I set the "Always on top" toggle - I then dialed an extension ("150" was the extension number), ended the call a few seconds later, and then checked to see if the toggle was lost, and it was.

I did this a few times before 11:15 as well, as I was testing it while the log was running.

Attached file is the log.

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
Stephen

Thanks! The log doesn't indicate that the "Toggle Window Always on Top" function was run a second time, so it doesn't look like the issue is on DisplayFusion's end. Something must be happening with the app itself that's causing the topmost property to be removed. Hopefully the 3CX devs can provide some insight!

Thanks Keith,

I have put your comments here up on the 3CX forum to see if they instigate any response.

Appreciate the help and diagnostics analysis.

Regards,
Stephen
