OS: Windows 10
Montiors: 3

I have 3 monitors setup. One monitor has a static image, while the other two monitors pull from a folder. The issue is when the wallpaper changes it loses focus on the program I was in. This is most noticeable when I'm typing. This has happened constantly in League of Legends. The other issue this causes is when I'm in the file explorer and looking at a folder with a bunch of documents/pictures it will shoot me back to the top no matter how far I was down.

The other person that I located that had a similar issue with this is http://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/issue-when-wall-papers-change/?ID=8b6b1854-f0a8-46a7-87db-84ef2503f84c.

I am using the trial version atm to decide if this program is worth buying or not. If this issue is in the final edition then it is a deal breaker.

If someone could get back to me much would be appreciated. Thanks

If you click the "Wallpaper Settings" button at the bottom of the Wallpaper window, and disable the "Use transitions when changing wallpaper" option, does that resolve the issue?

I do apologize about the late response, but I did disable the transitions. Unfortunately this did not solve the issues.

Thanks

Ok, thanks for trying that out. I haven't been able to reproduce this here yet, but I haven't tried it with LoL yet. Do you run LoL full screen, or windowed?

It happens with the LoL client. It doesn't happen in game, but in the lobby part or in the store.

Ok, thanks! We'll test that out and see what we can find.

I'm not experiencing it in LoL anymore, but the folder issue I am still experiencing.

Edit: 7/20 I am actually still experiencing the LoL issue. It is not constant though. Sometimes it will happen other times it won't.

I'm assuming this is a problem I cannot fix?

Sorry, still working on testing it out here. When I've had a chance to finish it up, I'll let you know either way :)

Just wanted to give an update.
Playing minecraft with this application:
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
Every time the wallpaper changes it stops my current action.

Example: If I am holding the "w" key to walk I will have to repress the key after the wallpaper transitions. This also happens in game when I am holding the left click.

If you could get back to me much would be appreciated. If you need logs let me know. Or any information about my system

I'm still experiencing this issue with the update to 7.2

Interesting! I'll test that out here as well to see if I can get it to show up that way, thanks!

Have you had any luck? Also is anyone else experiencing this issue or am I the only one?

No luck reproducing it yet. I'm totally stumped on this at the moment :(

I wonder if it's a combined issue between DisplayFusion and another program. If you disable everything from startup, reboot, and only start DisplayFusion and LoL (or Minecraft), does this still happen?

I've disabled everything. The only thing running at startup was displayfusion. The problem still persists.

Ok, could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info? I'll have a look through it to see if I can spot anything that might give me a clue on how to set my system up here to reproduce the issue.
  • Open the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the Copy to Clipboard button
  • Open Notepad, paste the text, and save the file
  • Reply with the text file attached

Thanks!

Sorry for the late response. I read your other post where the other person is having issues and tried the use internal wallpaper processing. It works, but when the wallpaper changes it does not have a transition even though that setting is on.

Here is my troubleshooting as well.

Edit: It does not fix the folder issue though. It still makes the file explorer go to the top when the wall paper changes.

Thanks, there's a reason that the transitions don't work with the internal wallpaper processing, but we need to look into the code to figure out why that is (should have wrote it down ;)).

Regarding the Explorer thing, I actually reproduced it once, but I can't seem to get it to occur again. Does it happen after a fresh boot for you, or only after the machine has been running for a while?

It happens on startup. Also regarding the internal processing, it actually on fixes the problem for a few minutes then it takes the active application out of focus for a split second so I have to reclick or press a key again that I was previously holding down. Also another issue I have noticed is on firefox when typing in the the url box it deletes everything if I hold down a key when the wall paper changes no matter if I'm on internal or external processing.

This issue is getting frustrating as I have to almost always close DF just to use the computer. I don't know if alternating images is worth this much of a hassle and this was the main reason I purchased DF for.

I totally understand your frustration. Focus stealing issues are extremely irritating! We're going to add some logging for 7.3 Beta 3, that will log focus changes, so that we can see which process is getting the focus when it changes. Hopefully that will provide some clues as to what may be happening.

I'll let you know as soon as it's available so that you can gather a new log.

Thanks!

Ok, could you guys set logging to L2, then send a new log after reproducing the focus changing issue?
  • Update to 7.3 Beta 4: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L2: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Did you mean L2: Detailed logging? If so here are my logs.
I have it set to change every 30 seconds.
Times it happens @:
9:41:51am
9:42:54am
9:43:26am
9:43:56am
These are rough approximates of time of when the issue occurs. During these tests I would type in the url of Firefox and when the images changed it would highlight all the text and delete it if I typed another character.

Other Times:
9:48:07
9:48:37
9:49:08
9:49:39
These are rough approximates of time of when the issue occurs. During these tests I would scroll to the bottom of a folder in file explorer. When the images changed it would shoot the scroll bar to the top.

Yeah, sorry, I had changed the 1 to a 2 and forgot to update the other text :)

Could you do some more wallpaper changes, and also set the "DisplayFusion.log" file that's found in the folder that opens when you click the "Open Log" button?

We've figured out what causes Explorer to scroll up when the wallpaper changes, but it appears to be a Windows bug. If you have the option in the Windows Personalization settings enabled to change the window colour when the wallpaper changes, this happens, regardless of whether you use DisplayFusion, or Windows to set the wallpaper. Disabling that option should fix it up :)
