Any ideas if this is possible?
I specifically would like a "countdown timer" on my background.
http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20150910T183001&p0=152&font=cursive&swk=1

Is there an easy way to do this or should I just look at a gadget and be done with it?

It's not currently possible, but it is on our feature request list, so I've added your vote :)

We will be adding a website screen saver for 7.2 though, not sure if that interests you or not, but figured I'd mention it.

Thanks!

Last Monday we released a new DisplayFusion beta version (https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta) and there's now a "Website" wallpaper source :)

Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

How does it actually work, like a snapshot of the website?
I'm testing it, seems kind of odd.

Also I just found the weather / time functions in the wallpaper section - but it doesn't overlay text or pull down anthing from a weather site, just seems to find images which correspond to the time of day?

It just loads the website in a browser window that's embedded on the desktop. If you want it to refresh periodically, enable the desktop wallpaper slideshow. It will then refresh the page on the interval specified.

Re: the weather and time of day wallpaper providers, you're correct, it just loads images based on the current weather or time of day. We do have an open feature request to overlay the actual weather conditions, so I've added your vote to that :)

Thanks!

hi,

I am having issues with the website background function in DisplayFusion. It was working last week and not this week.

What I am experiencing is the following:

Originally I was able to login to a website desktop background and click on links etc. Now the website just displays like a static image. e.g. I can no longer click on links or interact with the website.

I have uninstalled DisplayFusion, restarted my machine, I have attempted to set different websites and still have the same experience.

I have attached screenshots of the setup I have and what I am seeing.

Thanks

James

You should be able to enable input by right-clicking the DisplayFusion tray icon, and choosing Desktop Wallpaper > Toggle Website Wallpaper Keyboard/Mouse Input.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you still run into any trouble at all.

Thanks!

Hey Keith,

It's been a while and I've not paid much attention of late, weather conditions added to the overlay by any chance?

This is very cool! I'm looking to set a private google calendar as the background. Any ideas on how to get it to not just show the login screen on the background? I tried logging in with internet explorer because I figured you were using an embedded browser of some sort. But that didn't work.

It doesn't share cookies with IE unfortunately, but if you right-click the DisplayFusion tray icon and choose "Desktop Wallpaper > Toggle Keyboard and Mouse Input" you should be able to enter your credentials :)

Hope that helps!

I can't get the interaction with the webpage to work. Are there any other ideas that I could try?
I work with 3 monitors on 1 graphic card with the latest windows 10 and of course display fusion.

When you select "Desktop Wallpaper > Toggle Keyboard and Mouse Input" in the tray menu, do you hear the "whoosh" sound that indicates it's been enabled?

Nope, I hear nothing. The "button" is selected though.

If you right-click the desktop and open the View menu, is "Show desktop icons" disabled?

Was trying to use a trello page as a background, I get a message that IE is unsupported. Is there a way to have DF use Chrome as the engine?

Unfortunately not at the moment. There are a couple of Chromium based web controls that we've tried, but they haven't been reliable when using as the desktop wallpaper, as it's a bit of a tricky process to inject the control onto the desktop. We are hoping to get one working at some point, or even better would be if Microsoft would update the .NET web view control to something a bit more modern :)

This is truly amazing, I never expected it to be possible. Now have my NAS desktop set as interactive wallpaper.
