Couldn't think of a better title. I have an ultra-wide 49" monitor split into 3 as well as a smaller monitor (my laptop screen). Everything was working fine. By default, the laptop monitor was to the left of the big monitor. I wanted to switch it, as per the attached file.

All of a sudden, all all the virtual monitors where DisplayFusion was controlling the taskbar, the Start button was replaced by this weird cluster of squares.

I tried turning off and back on 'Enable Multi-Monitor Taskbars'. Try ending and restarting DisplayFusion. Tried rebooting. I'm stuck.

See video here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aipu9fbt7ewa162/2020-12-27%2013.18.19.mp4?dl=0

Update: I was running Version 9.7.1 Beta 9. I see beta 10 is available, so I got that, but no difference.

That looks a lot like a Start button from Start 10... Ironically I have it on my desktop.

Oh yeah, you're right. I'm definitely using Start 10. So why is DisplayFusion causing it to mess up its start button?
And more importantly, what did I do to cause this. Because it was working fine before.

All I can tell you is what I did. Uninstall Start 10 and restart your machine. Make sure DisplayFusion is running (I am using the latest Beta, not sure if that is important)then reinstall Start 10 and pick your Button and Start Menu layout. Restart your machine and check that all is well. Thats how I installed and run Start10 and it is fine.
Failing all of that, then its another one for the devs to sort out.

Looks like this has nothing to do with Start10. I uninstalled it and now I just see the Windows start button in the same place.
I also just upgraded from the beta to the production 9.7.1 and no difference.

How do I get the attention of the developers on this issue?

That's very strange, I've never run into that before! After uninstalling Start10, did you reboot your computer?

Yes, I did. So now I am running without Start10 and I'm still seeing this problem. And it's really impacting productivity because the weird icons get in the way.

If you roll back to DisplayFusion 9.7, does that issue still occur? Just wondering if it's from the update to 9.7.1 or from the monitor configuration change.

It was running fine with the first 9.7.1 beta I was running (I think #9). It only started when I switched the monitor configuration. But I can try 9.7

Just rolled back to 9.7 and there's no difference. So something weird happened to my configuration.
Is there a way to save my settings and refresh it or clearing a cache or something like that?
Does the troubleshooting info that I uploaded on another issue help with this?

It does actually! It looks like you have the following advanced setting set:

Taskbar: Start Button Scale: 5

If you clear that value, apply the settings, then restart DF, that should fix it :)

That's it! Thanks. Must have been a typo when I was setting other stuff. Not sure why anyone would want to do this :-)
