Hi

I have WIN10 home, Fusion Pro 9.8.
I have a big screen 5120x1400 (49")

When I make position profiles (save current layout) and save them with shortcut ctrl+shift+1 (..+2...+3) windows do not rearrange according to saved profile/position on screen.

Ie
Outlook+excel+adobe on ctrl+shift+1
word+chrome+excel on ctrl+shift+2

What can happen is that one or 2 windows restores correct but on of them still minimized.

In general I have like 10 other programs running, and many open files in each program, like 5 excel sheets + 10 pdfs + 4 word documents

Is there something i miss as a rookie?

Hello,

Could you open the DisplayFusion Settings > Window Position Profiles tab, and send me a screenshot of the "Edit" screen on one of those profiles?

Thanks!

Thanks for sending that over. Can you try testing with just those three windows you want moved, and see if it works?

Multiple windows with the same entries can cause windows to get shifted to the wrong location. If the window text has been changed since saving the profile as well, some windows can get missed.

Let's test with just Outlook, chrome, and total commander, and see the results.

Thanks!

I total i made 5 profiles, non of them is stable.

Thanks up front

Hello,

In the "Edit" window of your profile, you can delete each entry that is not needed, by selecting it and pressing the "Delete" button in the upper right corner.

Thanks!

Hi again, still some issues.
I have made a new win pos profile, deleted all lines not necessary.

NB the text "windows text" is correct regarding windows names, i did not change any open files or windows in this test, i only played with them max, min and move.

See screenshot.
Now it seems to work a bit better, but still issues.
Windows that should be placed on screen is placed, but under open windows.
Ie
1 Chrome and other programs is open in front of windows in profile
2 i load profile "Outlook and Excel"
3 Outlook and excel is placed correct but under chrome.

Glad to hear those windows are getting moved to the correct location!

We currently don't support saving the Z order with our profiles, but we do have this open as a feature request. Would you like me to add your vote, so we can let you know if we have any news on it in the future?

Thanks!

Z ordering is the positioning of windows above/below each other. Currently, our profiles only store the X/Y coordinates, along with the height and width of the windows, but as mentioned we do have a feature request to store the Z order, so it will move windows to the front or back.

Thanks!

Im speechless, this feature is so wrong that its not like PRI 1.
How is it possible to make this SW without it?

Im a advance user, I know all shortcuts to be effective at work, and typically runs like 20 open programs with many windows per program. With your sw i can place them but shortcut is not working alone. That means I need to use mouse again and again and again and again...

Please address this to CEO, this lack in functionality you cant live with, nor can I.

Sent him this:
Dear CEO, we need to step up and make Z order default feature in our SW, our customers deserves it. The we make them a lot more productive an they will recommend our SW.

Thanks
