Ok ive tried following this guide

https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/preventing-game-windows-from-minimizing/?ID=ab5ec329-4190-4dff-8d63-e9b5f611656e

seems the top workaround isnt in my version (newest pro version bought via steam)

Im trying to use triggers , i can set game filepath in trigger such as D:\Origin Games\Battlefield 1\bf1.exe and create trigger.

I can also create a delay however as for the run function (prevent window deactivation) i have no idea. I assumed it would be under the ADD tab but its not. please help :)

oh and ive also looked here but i assume i must be missing something?

ok after looking at the forums i see my start time was too short so i set it to 1 minute , still no joy in BF1 , because i have bf1 on my mechanical drive and not my ssd it takes an age to load into a map , i hear the activation whoosh as its loading , i tried to set the activation time to 2 minutes but it wont stick , when i click ok it goes back to 60000? Is there any way of increasing it past 1 minute?

If you assign a key combination to the "Prevent Window Deactivation" function on the Settings > Functions tab, apply the settings, then run that in BF1 after the game has fully loaded, do you hear the whoosh sound? If so, does the game then stay open when you alt+tab out? I don't have BF1 to test with here unfortunately :(

Yes I tried that . I assigned it to a mum pad key . I can hear the whoosh after bf1 has loaded . I then press ESC to get into the bf1 menu I can then move my cursor to the second monitor. As soon as I click anywhere in that momitor the game minimises on the other monitor? I tested Witcher 3 and it kind of worked . I had a working cursor on both monitors , the game would respond and a cursor would move and operate the other monitor at the same time without minimising the game but my keyboard wouldn't work in game :D Not sure if I'm doing something g wrong? :/

Nah, you're not doing anything wrong. That function is doing stuff that the games are not programmed to handle. Some games are ok with it, others aren't. Unfortunately it's just a matter of trial and error, but if neither the Trigger, nor the hotkey work, there's nothing you can really do :(
